Cat show in Essen

Where the roar of the stands usually echoes, a gentle purr can now be heard. The Essen Ice Palace hosted an international cat show. Dedicated to the anniversary of the Essen Association of German Pedigree Cats, it brought together cats from all over the world.

Interesting exhibitors

Approximately 500 pets were registered for the event.

"We've received rare Egyptian Mau and Kurilian Bobtails," rejoices union president Annelise Hackman. There are also competitors from Russia, Ukraine, and Turkey.

The highlight of the program

A beautiful German Longhair show took place on the first day of the exhibition, Saturday. Fluffy beauties of various breeds took part.

And on Sunday, the exhibition ring was open, where world champions and premiers were judged together.

"The exhibition features award-winning animals. That's why this competition took place," the president explains.

Pleasant atmosphere

The cats are doing great. They're swinging in hammocks, taking photos, and relaxing. The public is watching the touching "Child and Cat" competition. Information boards are filled with the latest news about the cats.

Pet class

The exhibition featured beautiful mixed-breed cats competing for the title of "Best Domestic Cat." The favorite came from Sweden. This beauty has been named the world's best domestic cat for two years in a row.

“Simple whiskers rarely participate in our exhibitions,” regrets Anneliese.

WCF Capital

Ms. Hackman is also the President of the World Cat Federation. Anneliese recently attended the World Cat Congress.

"The WCF headquarters was founded in Essen about 28 years ago. Society representatives come from various countries. For some, it's a very long trip, like the Australians. Essen is a global 'Mecca' for cat fans. We hope this will continue," concludes Hackman.

A mecca for cat fans

The exhibition delighted city residents, tourists, and, of course, purring fidgets.
