Content
General description and features
Hexacanivac consists of two components: a dry component and a liquid component. Each component is packaged separately in clear glass vials sealed with rubber stoppers. Their primary purpose is to maintain the package's airtight seal. The dry and liquid components are mixed together only before use.

The dry component appears as a porous, light-yellow mass with a characteristic pink tint. It contains a strain of canine distemper virus, suspended in a dried sucrose-gelatose medium. It is packaged in 1 ml doses.
The liquid component is a pink suspension. During storage, a light gray sediment forms at the bottom. It mixes easily with shaking. Like the dry component, the liquid portion is packaged in single doses of 2.2 ml. It consists of the following viruses:
- adenovirus;
- parvovirus;
- Leptospira.
The liquid component also contains formalin, which acts as an inactivator. Aluminum hydroxide gel, which is part of the composition, enhances the immune system and acts as an auxiliary component.
Application and properties
Hexacanivac is used to prevent dangerous infectious diseases with mortality rates ranging from 10-30% to 70-90%. Timely vaccination helps reduce the risk of illness and alleviate the severity of the disease if it occurs. The vaccine induces immunity against the following diseases:
- plague;
- infectious hepatitis;
- adenovirus;
- leptospirosis;
- parvovirus hepatitis.
Immunity develops three weeks after two doses and lasts for 12 months. Subsequently, to prolong the vaccine's effectiveness and protect against dangerous infections, a single dose of Hexacanivac once a year is sufficient.

Since the vaccine contains weakened virus strains, it is harmless and poses no risk to dogs. Owners should remember that it is used exclusively for preventative, routine immunization. It is not used for treatment.
How to apply?
Before using Hexacanivac for dogs, carefully read the instructions for use. They detail not only the directions for use but also precautions.
The vaccine is administered to dogs intramuscularly (in the thigh) or subcutaneously. The first immunization is administered at 60 days of age. The injection is repeated 2-3 weeks later. The next vaccination is administered only after teething, with a single injection. Subsequently, booster vaccinations are administered annually with a single dose.
The dosage for puppies and adults differs. For animals weighing up to 5 kg, 1.2 ml of the liquid component is used; for pets over 5 kg, the full dose, or 2.2 ml, is required.
When performing vaccination, adhere to the following algorithm of actions:
- Shake the liquid component in the bottle well, especially if sediment has formed, until the mixture is uniform.
- Using a sterile syringe, draw up the liquid portion of the vaccine and place it into the container with the dry component.
- Shake the contents of the glass container well until the dry part is completely dissolved.
- Draw the prepared vaccine into the syringe.
- Give the animal an injection. No additional treatment of the injection site is required.

Please note! It is recommended to use disposable syringes for vaccination. If reusable needles and syringes are used, they must be sterilized by boiling for 20 minutes. The use of chemical sterilization agents is not permitted.
Important points
To ensure Hexacanivac develops a lasting immunity in your animal, follow these simple guidelines for use:

- Two weeks before immunization, the use of immunoglobulins and specific serums must be stopped.
- Antibiotics should not be used for 14 days after vaccination. antiparasitic and hormonal agents.
Simultaneous rabies vaccination is permitted. The vaccine is administered using a different sterile syringe into the other thigh, but the pet must be examined by a veterinarian beforehand.

Please adhere to the recommended dosage regimen for Hexacanivac. Otherwise, its effectiveness may be reduced. vaccine will not provide reliable protection to the dog's body from infections.

Occasionally, a small lump may form at the injection site. This does not require special treatment and usually resolves within a few days.

Owner reviews
Larisa, the dachshund's owner:
"We've been using Hexacanivac for our dachshund for three years now. Our veterinarian recommended the vaccine, and we've never been disappointed. It provides reliable protection against infections (at least, we haven't encountered any in all these years) and is affordable. There have been no side effects."
Igor, the husky's owner:
"When we picked up the puppy from the breeder, he was vaccinated with Hexacanivac, so we used a domestic product for the booster shot. The lump at the injection site lingered for a long time, even though the vet said it was nothing to worry about. However, in the future, I want to choose a safer product."
Veterinarian Reviews
Artem, a veterinarian with 8 years of experience:
"Hexacanivac is a good vaccine from a domestic manufacturer. Over the years of testing, we haven't noticed any significant differences between it and imported analogues, but the price is significantly different. Complications with foreign vaccines can also sometimes occur, as this depends on compliance with all the regulations and the animal itself."
Karina, a veterinarian with 7 years of experience:
"Hexacanivac is a multi-component and effective vaccine from a domestic manufacturer. Although inexpensive, when used correctly, it can provide reliable protection for dogs against life-threatening infections. In my experience, there has only been one case where a dog became ill after administration. Apathy, lethargy, and refusal to eat were observed for several days, but the animal recovered, although the imported Nobivac was used in the future."
