Cytoderm - drops for dogs

Under the CitoDerm brand, the Russian research and production company Ecoprom produces medicinal, hygiene, and cosmetic products for animals. Their formulations were developed by the German company Neoterica. One of the dermatological products, CitoDerm drops for dogs, is designed for comprehensive coat and skin care.

Cytoderm drops for dogs

CitoDerm is recommended for use during shedding season, as well as for sparse, dull, brittle fur, bald spots, dandruff, and other kerato-seborrheic conditions. CitoDerm drops are also indicated for relieving skin allergies, eliminating dandruff, and eliminating unpleasant odor. The natural composition of this cosmetic and hygiene product guarantees its absolute safety.

Composition and action of components

The formula of Cytoderm dermatological drops includes natural oils:

  • Mink oil. The oil obtained from processing mink skins contains polyunsaturated acids, perfectly nourishes and softens the skin, and improves the elasticity of the dog's coat.
  • Tea tree oil. This tropical plant's oil has disinfectant and anti-inflammatory properties, relieving itching and irritation.
  • Carnations. Provide antiseptic and antiparasitic properties and stimulate hair growth.
  • Chamomile. Relieves inflammation and skin irritation, deodorizes, moisturizes, and has regenerative properties.
  • Lavender. The essential oil of this plant is considered a strong antiseptic; it regulates the skin's moisture balance, eliminates flaking, and dandruff, heals minor injuries.
  • Jojoba (Simmondsia chinensis). A rich source of essential fatty acids for coat and skin, it contains vitamins B and E. It improves the elasticity of the skin and coat by supporting lipid metabolism in their cells.

Types of Cytoderm drops

Cytoderm dermatological drops for dogs are available at veterinary pharmacies, pet stores, and specialized online retailers. Store in a dry place and have a shelf life of two years. Once opened, use within 24 hours.

Ecoprom JSC produces another medication for dogs in the form of drops. These are Cytoderm ear drops, intended for the treatment of acute and chronic otitis media of bacterial or fungal origin. The medication has anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, acaricidal, and antifungal effects. The ear drops contain levofloxacin, clotrimazole, dexamethasone, and moxidectin. This medication should not be used as a substitute for Cytoderm cosmetics and hygiene products.

Application procedure

According to the instructions, it's best to apply Cytoderm drops to dogs 2-3 days after bathing the animal. To apply the drops, choose a spot where the dog won't lick them: between the shoulder blades or the base of the neck.

The dropper is easy to open; simply break off the thin end. Carefully part the fur and squeeze the entire contents of the dropper tube onto the dog's skin. There is no need to rub the medication in.

Packaging of Cytoderm drops

The optimal course of treatment is one pipette once a week for a month. Subsequently, it is recommended to repeat Cytoderm treatments every two weeks to maintain the results.

After handling the dermatological product, wash your hands with soap to avoid skin irritation. It is recommended not to bathe your dog for two days after treatment with Cytoderm.

Reviews

Maria Semenovna Ilchenko, veterinarian

Cytoderm drops for dogs have earned excellent reviews for their ability to quickly resolve pet skin problems and improve the quality of their coat. This dermatological care product restores skin hydration, prevents flaking and dandruff, and adds a healthy shine to the coat, reduces hair loss, and accelerates growth. Among other benefits, Cytoderm provides a natural scent to your dog's coat.

CitoDerm is a safe product made from natural ingredients, and this domestic product is much less expensive than foreign analogues designed for comprehensive coat and skin care. For example, the French product Dermoscent Essential, which contains virtually the same set of plant oils, costs almost three times as much: a set of four 0.6 ml pipettes costs 1,500 rubles.

Mikhail, Krasnodar

"When my terrier, Archie, started scratching himself and bald spots appeared on his fur, I was afraid it might be some kind of dangerous disease. But the vet, after a thorough examination, found no abnormalities and suggested stress was the cause—we had recently moved from a single-family home to a high-rise apartment. The vet advised waiting for the dog to get used to his new home and, to alleviate the external effects of stress, recommended trying Cytoderm drops. We bought the drops and used them as directed for two months. The results were excellent: Archie stopped scratching, and the hair in the bald spots is growing back. It's a good product, I recommend it."

Olga, Stavropol

"After her spaying, our dog's back skin started peeling for some reason, and she developed a thick, dandruff-like sheath. Small bald spots also developed. The vet prescribed Cytoderm dermatological drops, which should be applied weekly to the withers or between the shoulder blades. We bought this product, and within a week we saw the results: the dandruff was gone! The drops contain natural oils, so our dog didn't experience any discomfort. Immediately after application, the fur on her neck looked a little greasy, but within two days, the oils had completely absorbed into the skin. We used Cytoderm for two months, and during this time, the bald spots were completely covered with hair. For those whose dogs refuse vitamin tablets, Cytoderm drops are an excellent option."

  • Hello! Our Yorkie has frequent, severe itching, apparently allergic in origin. Dexamethasone effectively relieves the symptoms, one injection every 3-4 weeks. Question: How often can dexamethasone be used and for how long? Thanks in advance!

    • Hello! It's important not to treat the symptoms, but to address the underlying cause of allergic dermatitis, which is the cause of the itching. Long-term and frequent use of dexamethasone can lead to a number of new pathologies. The most common are problems with the adrenal glands and pancreas, which can lead to diabetes, thinning of the skin and injury from the slightest touch or pressure, and skin and nail bed infections. Furthermore, if dexamethasone is used incorrectly, withdrawal symptoms can develop (not after a single injection, of course, but frequent use of this type of hormonal therapy is not ideal). My advice: find the underlying cause of the allergy. Start with diet and treatments.
