How to give a pill to a cat with a pill dispenser
For various illnesses, cats may be prescribed tablet medications, which must be administered in a course to achieve the desired therapeutic effect. While cats will happily eat vitamins and other treats in tablet form, medications are often problematic. Getting an animal to swallow medications that have an unpleasant odor and are often unpleasant and bitter is quite difficult, especially if the medication cannot be mixed with food or drink. In most cases, the animal will not even allow the medication to be placed in its mouth. This can result in the owner being left with scratched hands and the entire household suffering from severe stress. As a result, the cat will hide in the farthest corner of the house and will not emerge until the environment is once again safe. Depending on its nature, this "hide and seek" can last from several hours to several days. Other unpleasant behaviors, caused by an offended cat in retaliation for the discomfort caused, are also possible.

In such cases, a pill dispenser should be used. It allows for quick and minimal harm to both pet and owner. The device is syringe-shaped and requires no special skills to use:
- Remove the tablet dispenser from the original packaging and rinse with plain warm boiled or purified water (do not use soap solutions!).
- Insert the tablet into the special hole at the tip.
- Place the cat in your arms with its back to you, stroke it and calm it down.
- Slowly pull the cat's fur at the withers until its mouth begins to open.
If the cat is aggressive, then at this stage you may need the help of someone close to you who will hold the pet's paws.
- Take the pill dispenser and gently insert it into the cat's mouth, just behind the canine tooth, near the back teeth. The soft tip shouldn't cause any harm to the animal, but be careful not to overdo it.
- Press the trigger of the pill dispenser.
- Close the cat's mouth and hold it there for a moment until it swallows the pill. Swallowing is encouraged by gently stroking the neck. You can check the success of the procedure by lifting the pet's cheek: the unswallowed pill will be visible through the gaps between the teeth.
- After completing the procedure, rinse the device and dry it with a clean towel.
When purchasing a new package, it should contain detailed instructions on how to use the pill dispenser, as well as how to care for it.

Reviews
Elena Voronina:
"Our veterinarian recommended the pill dispenser. When our cat got sick, she was prescribed antibiotics for four days. The vet immediately recommended we buy an applicator to make life easier for the whole family, especially our cat. This procedure is very stressful, and our beautiful cat is already sensitive. We bought a Feeding Kit introducer. It was fairly easy to find. It's shaped like a syringe and is easy to use, but it takes some practice. We'll continue to use it as needed."
Katerina Globina:
"On a friend's recommendation, I decided to give it a try. I bought a KRUUSE introducer at the nearest pet center. It's inexpensive and looks unremarkable—like a syringe. I decided to try it on my pet during her next deworming appointment. It was a bit of a struggle. I can't say the pill dispenser made life much easier. Quite the opposite, actually. It might be better for ladies with long manicures. But since I'm not one of them, I prefer to avoid fancy gadgets."
Olga Semenova:
"This is a great device. It makes giving my cat medicine so much easier. It works really well with water: the cat kind of washes it down and swallows it quickly. The only downside is the price. It's a bit pricey."
