Anyone who hasn't seen a video of Du Du, a Chinese dog, is missing out. This isn't just a dog that stands on its hind legs like a human; it's a true fashionista. Its owner dresses its pet in stylish clothes, and Du Du carries a bright backpack. The dog not only runs, but also jumps with delight, completely unafraid of people.

Russian dogs are not far behind their Chinese relatives. Poodle A poodle named Rocky has become a star of Russian cinema. His owner, Yuliana Borovik, insists it's not training. The dog really does walk like that. It all started when Rocky greeted his owner, who arrived in a tall car. Trainers say this type of imitation of humans is truly characteristic of poodles. This breed is very sensitive to human reactions, so when a poodle sees its unusual behavior earning praise from its owner, it will perform its tricks again and again.

Residents of Voronezh were lucky enough to see such an unusual dog in person. They have their own "kangaroo dog." Far from being a baby, he's a husky-Akita cross. The most interesting thing is that Fidel, as the Voronezh hero is called, stands on his hind legs in the cold. Perhaps he enjoys winter, and this unusual way of moving is simply a way of expressing his joy. Proof of this is the photos and videos that show the dog walking his owner on a leash, rather than the other way around.

Tatyana Maltseva, Fidel's "mother," says she never taught her dog this trick, so to speak, "by the bone." A photo on Fidel's personal Instagram page (www.instagram.com/fideltatianovich/) shows the dog standing on his hind legs for fun, not following a command.

How to teach a dog to stand on its hind legs

If you really want your pet to be like YouTube stars, you can teach your dog this trick, but that doesn't mean they'll enjoy the process of standing up. Their goal is to master the "Stand up!" command. The length of the training process will depend not only on the owner's persistence but also on the breed being trained. Large dogs or breeds with short legs have a harder time mastering this command than their smaller counterparts.

  1. The first step is to teach your pet to "serve." To do this, you'll need some support and a treat. Take the treat in your hand and move it upward from its muzzle, encouraging the pet to rise up onto its hind legs. At first, your dog will need some help: prop its paws against the support to help it feel balanced. Each time, your hand should move higher and higher until its legs are fully straight.
  2. In the second stage, the dog is taught to stand without support. Using a treat, the animal is lifted upward, then a hand is placed behind the dog's head, encouraging the pet to lift its front paws off the support. All actions are performed with the command "Stand up!" The owner's goal is to ensure the dog confidently performs a backstand without falling forward or spinning.
  3. The third stage is steps. First, you can teach the dog to walk backward. On command, "Stand up!" the dog stands on its hind legs, then the owner holds a treat behind the dog's head, encouraging it to move toward the tasty reward. Once the dog has mastered the steps backward, it can be taught to walk forward in a similar manner.

Such physical exercises are very difficult for animals, as they are not typical for their physiology. They should not be done such tricks with puppies or with older dogs.
