A dog that looks like a mop

A breed is a group of animals created through selective breeding. The domestic dog's ancestor is the wolf, but there are now approximately 400 breeds of Canis familiaris. They vary greatly in appearance: some remain wolf-like, others resemble bears, and some look like cute plush toys or "suitcases on legs." And then there's the "mop dog," whose uncanny resemblance to a cleaning tool is simply astonishing. This is the Hungarian Shepherd, or Komondor.

These dogs have retained a genetic predisposition to observe their charges, which include all members of the family they live in: a Hungarian Shepherd can spend hours attentively observing the actions of adults and children. The breed is known for its loyalty, lacks a tendency toward dominance, and is easy to train. This dog can be kept in a private home or city apartment, serving as a guard, protector, and companion.
