The dog from the movie "The Adventures of Electronics": breed

"The Adventures of Elektronic" is a Soviet science fiction film released in 1979. After its theatrical release, it became a cult classic, seen by both adults and children. Audiences fell in love not only with the main characters but also with the brave Rassie. This character appears in the second part and remains the children's faithful companion for the rest of the film. Dog breed

The nickname "Rassie" stands for "Rarest Electronic Perfect Dog." Electronic received it in a toy store after a boy helped him fix his broken mechanisms. The boy "brings his pet to life" and turns it into a robot. This delighted the young audience, as everyone dreamed of their toy talking.

The film is based on the story "Elektronik - the Boy from the Suitcase" by Soviet writer Yevgeny Veltistov. In it, Rassie is referred to as a black terrier. In "The Adventures of Elektronik," the dog breed is slightly different—the role of the robot dog is played by Airedale Chingiz. This is a fairly large dog, some reaching up to 60 cm in height. Airedale Terriers have strong muscles and powerful jaws. The chest is rather narrow, and the legs are massive. The tail of this breed is docked at an early age. The coat is curly and harsh, dark, almost black on the back, and light beige or reddish on the legs and face.

The breed's origin is England. It was there in the 19th century that it was developed by crossing red terriers with Old English Black and Tan Terriers and Otterhounds. At the end of the century, the breed was officially recognized by the National Kennel Club. Initially, it was considered exclusively a hunting breed. Airedale terriers tracked prey, attacked it, and then brought it back to their master. During World War I, dogs often assisted at the front, carrying the wounded and delivering mail. Airedales are known for their high endurance. They are excellent long-distance runners, jumpers, and obstacle coursers.

This breed's personality is ideal for filmmaking. Active, sociable, and intelligent, they obediently follow commands and interact easily with people. These animals have a good memory—they can remember grievances even from childhood. Thanks to their highly developed intelligence, they are quickly and easily trained. Airedale Terriers require training and constant exercise to become obedient and follow all their owner's commands. This should be done from a very early age to prevent the dog from growing up stubborn and willful.

Sometimes the dog ignores commands, but this isn't due to a lack of understanding, but rather to excessive independence. Airedale Terriers can become stubborn at the most inopportune moments. Another key character trait of the breed is emotionality. These dogs express their feelings vividly, but are not at all aggressive.

You can keep an Airedale Terrier in any living space: a private house or an apartment. They get along well with people if they are loved and given enough attention. A well-groomed Airedale Terrier truly does look like a stuffed animal come to life, like the dog from the film "The Adventures of Electronics."

Erdel Chingiz, who became famous thanks to this film, continued his film career after filming ended. In 1980, the film "The Life and Adventures of Four Friends" was released, in which the dog played the role of Bublik. The breed itself became very popular in the Soviet Union—every young viewer wanted a dog like the one in "Elektronika."

Song about Rassie

The second part of the film, titled "The Secret of 6B," features a fascinating scene. In it, Elektronik shows Syroezhkin and his classmates his miracle pet. At first, the boy makes the toy move. When the dog first came to life, it began growling and even lunging at the boys, but after a few moments, Rassi allowed himself to be petted and scratched behind the ears. The dog obediently follows commands and even moves around at Elektronik's command.

The boy pulls a guitar out of thin air and begins singing a song dedicated to his four-legged friend. Meanwhile, on screen, the others join hands, smile, dance, and sing along. The dog is having fun with the kids, jumping and playing. At the end of the scene, the kids surround the dog and pet him, then a close-up of Rassie's barking face appears.

After the film's release, the song about the dog from "Elektronika" became very popular. This children's hit, like other songs from the film, was written by Soviet composer Yevgeny Krylatov. Many Soviet children sang this song about a faithful friend, and today it remains a classic of Russian children's music.
