Shermurr - canned cat food
When feeding cats, an excellent alternative to natural food is wet food, which can be used as a staple diet. A variety of nutritionally balanced ingredients make this food tasty and nutritious for cats, and the small, airtight packaging is convenient. Canned cat food with the beautiful name "Shermurr" (cher means "dear" in French) is offered by the Russian company Global Petfood LLC.
Content
General characteristics
Shermurr is a premium, complete diet for adult cats. The food is made using formulas developed by French veterinary nutritionists. It contains one main ingredient (it's listed first on the label)—meat and by-products. The total meat content of the food is at least 80%, of which beef accounts for 10%. The canned food also contains fiber (grains), taurine, vitamins, and mineral supplements.
Customers cite the advantages of Shermurr wet food as a wide selection to satisfy even the pickiest cat, a fairly affordable price for a premium product, and the absence of harmful additives such as artificial flavors and preservatives in canned food.
Many people ask what the four graphic symbols on the bottom of the food label mean. These are pictograms used by the manufacturer to highlight specific brand benefits. The first two symbols represent the nutritionally balanced composition and the expert selection of vitamins and minerals. The second two symbols highlight the positive effects of Shermurr's diet on the cat's immune system and joint and bone health.
Among the brand’s shortcomings, experts note:
- The recipes do not list the names and exact contents of additional ingredients (grains, mineral supplements, types of by-products). This information is important when feeding any cat, and especially for animals with special needs.
- The Shermurr line does not offer specialized foods. Therefore, selecting food for kittens, pregnant and nursing cats, neutered and spayed animals, and cats with gastrointestinal issues or allergies requires trial and error, or choosing a different brand of canned food.
Assortment
The Shermurr line of wet food is represented by three types: meat or fish stews in sauce, pieces of meat, poultry or fish in jelly, and pates.
Stew
This type of food consists of meat, poultry, or fish covered in sauce. Pieces of specific sizes, formed in a chopper-dispenser, are heat-treated, and then a gravy made from water, meat or vegetable broth, and natural flavors is added.
The stew is packaged in foil pouches weighing 85g. When feeding the stew to your cat, it should be at room temperature; hot or very cold food is not recommended. The energy value of this food is 67 kcal/100g, the approximate daily requirement for an adult cat is 50-70g per 1kg of body weight. The shelf life is 2 years (the manufacturing date is indicated on the packaging); an opened pouch can be refrigerated for 24 hours.
Flavor line "Juicy pieces of meat in Shermurr sauce":
- beef stew;
- chicken stew;
- turkey stew;
- rabbit stew.

Canned food in jelly
The production process for Shermurr canned pet food in jelly involves the same technological steps as the production of stew. The difference lies in the composition of the filling: instead of broth or vegetable gravy, natural gelling agents are added to pieces of beef, rabbit, poultry, or fish. These can include starch, pectin, or gelatin obtained from the cartilage and bone tissue of farm animals.
Canned food is packaged in airtight pouches or tins with a key, weighing 85g or 420g. The nutritional value and daily intake for this type of food for an adult cat are the same as for the stew. The food's shelf life is 24 months from the date of manufacture. Opened packages should be refrigerated for no more than 24 hours.
Flavor line "Juicy pieces of meat in Shermurr jelly":
- with beef;
- with lamb;
- with chicken;
- with a rabbit;
- with turkey;
- with fish.
Pate
To produce this type of canned food, meat or fish is ground, then water and the required additives (cereals, minerals, vitamins, amino acids) are added. The mixture is ground to a paste and packaged in 100g jars—small, semi-rigid containers made of thick aluminum foil with a polypropylene coating. The packaged food is sterilized in autoclaves, labeled, and tagged.

The Lamister tray can be used as a disposable feeding dish for your cat by simply removing the sealed lid. You can also use this container to warm pâté to room temperature if it's been refrigerated. This food should only be left out in the open for 1-2 hours, as it provides an excellent breeding ground for pathogenic microflora.
The energy value of a 100-gram serving of Sherrmur pâté is 67 kcal. A cat will need approximately 2-3 jars of pâté per day. The product has a shelf life of 24 months; after opening, the pâté should be stored at a temperature not exceeding 10°C for no longer than 24 hours.
This type of wet food Shermurr is presented in the form of pates:
- with beef;
- with a rabbit;
- with turkey;
- with chicken;
- with lamb;
- with fish.

Reviews
Firsova Svetlana Grigoryevna, veterinarian:
"Shermhurr wet food can be considered complete—its formula includes all the ingredients a cat needs. However, I believe that prepared pates, stews, and jellies should not be used for regular feeding. If a cat eats only soft food, the natural intestinal cleansing process is disrupted, and food particles remain on the intestinal walls. When this plaque decomposes, the intestinal mucosa can become inflamed, and toxins enter the bloodstream, causing various illnesses accompanied by itching, hair loss, and other unpleasant symptoms."
Artem, Orenburg:
"I recently discovered that my British cat, Barry, was almost out of food. There's a Pyaterochka store near my house, so I went there to buy some dinner for myself and the cat. I usually buy Barry croquettes and Applaus canned food, but I saw an interesting new product—Shermurr pâté in a cute foil jar. I read the ingredients and decided to give it a try. Honestly, I wasn't expecting anything special from such a modestly priced product. But when I opened the package, the pâté looked and smelled delicious. Barry loved the taste: he devoured almost everything in the 100-gram tray with gusto. It's a good food, I recommend it!"
Elena Viktrovna, Krasnodar:
"I've had a cute calico cat named Busya for several years now. I tried feeding her table scraps, but she developed an allergy and scratched her face until it was raw. The vet recommended switching to cat food. I'm retired and can't afford expensive food. I usually use Purina One kibble; they're budget-friendly, but the quality is very good. I tried Gourmet wet food, but my pet rejected it. I saw Shermurr pâté at Pyaterochka; it was on sale for pensioners. She really liked it, and I liked both the price and the convenient packaging. I don't transfer the contents from the lamister jar; I mash it with a fork and feed it directly from the tray."
