The heaviest dog in the world

As a result of centuries of selective breeding, dogs—direct descendants of the wolf—differ in many ways from their wild ancestors. Today, there are approximately 400 dog breeds, divided into four groups based on size. The largest and heaviest are giant breeds. Between birth and adulthood, their weight increases almost 100-fold.
