Ribotan for dogs
Ribotan is a natural immunomodulator used in dogs and other animals. It is used to support the immune system in various illnesses (from infectious diseases to congenital immunodeficiency), during vaccinations, and during stressful situations. Although it is considered safe (it does not cause side effects), please read the instructions before using it on dogs.

Content
Composition and release form
The following components help to improve the animal’s immunity:
- mixture of low molecular weight peptides;
- yeast RNA fragments.
The composition also includes sodium chloride and purified water. These ingredients act as auxiliary components.
Ribotan is developed and manufactured by the Russian company "Vetzverotsentr." The manufacturer has been operating in the market since 1990 and produces veterinary medications across various categories. Its products are very popular among dog owners.
The immunomodulator is a clear injection solution. The medication is packaged in 1- and 100-ml vials (ampoules). When purchasing the medication for dogs, small packages are preferred, as it cannot be stored once opened. Ampoules are packaged in 10-a-side blisters and cardboard boxes, but many pharmacies sell Ribotan vials individually.

Action
Ribotan has pronounced immunostimulatory properties. The medication has a broad spectrum of biological activity. It has the following effects:
- stimulates the synthesis of interferon;
- increases antibody levels;
- promotes the production of lysine and lysozyme;
- improves the course of homeostasis;
- has an antitoxic effect;
- initiates regenerative processes (promotes wound healing and cell renewal);
- increases the phagocytic activity of neutrophils and macrophages.
Its comprehensive effect on the immune system allows it to be effectively used for a variety of conditions, including those that cause immunodeficiency. Ribotan also accelerates the development of post-vaccination immunity and increases its strength, improves the protective properties of the blood, and enhances the body's resistance to various adverse factors:
- viruses;
- bacteria;
- infections;
- fungi, etc.

Indications for use
The immunostimulant can be used either alone or as part of a comprehensive treatment. In combination with other medications, it is prescribed for the following conditions:
- leukopenia;
- agranulocytosis;
- other diseases that are accompanied by immunodeficiency.
It is also used in the treatment and prevention of diseases caused by viruses, bacteria, parasites and fungi.
In addition, Ribotan is used to prevent the development of diseases of various etiologies in the following cases:
- before and after surgical interventions;
- during transportation;
- when visiting exhibitions and other places with large concentrations of animals;
- in possible stressful situations.

When exposed to various factors (from illness to stress), an animal's immunity is weakened, which can contribute to the development of pathologies or the exacerbation of chronic conditions. Using Ribotan, which can be used both therapeutically and as a preventative measure, can help prevent such situations.
Instructions for use
When using Ribotan for dogs, follow the dosages recommended in the instructions (included with each package):
- For puppies under 3 weeks of age, 0.5-1 ml of medicine will be needed.
- For young animals over 3 weeks old, as well as small breed dogs, 1-1.5 ml of solution will be required.
- For adult individuals, including representatives of large breeds, it is necessary to give injections of 1-2 ml.
The drug can be administered intramuscularly (usually the thigh) or subcutaneously (the withers are the ideal site). If the drug is used for therapeutic purposes, injections are given daily at the above-mentioned dose, and the course of treatment is 3-5 days. If the disease is in the early stages, a different treatment regimen is used. The immunomodulator injections are given 2-3 times every 3-5 days, depending on the symptoms and the course of the disease. This treatment regimen is also used in cases where a diagnosis has not been made, but the animal's condition is noticeably worsening.
The drug's use for preventative purposes differs significantly. To boost the body's resistance to viruses, fungi, bacteria, and parasites, Ribotan is administered 2-3 times per month. If transportation, participation in a competition, exhibition, or other stressful situation is planned, to boost the animal's immunity and prevent the development of potential diseases, the immunomodulator injection is administered 10-18 hours beforehand.
To enhance the effect of the vaccine and speed up the onset of post-vaccination immunity, the drug is administered before or during vaccination.

In combination therapy, Ribotan can be combined with chemotherapeutic drugs, as well as medications used to support heart function, vitamin complexes, various serums and antibacterial agents.
It's important to adhere to the treatment or prophylaxis regimen prescribed by your doctor and avoid missing injections. Otherwise, its effectiveness may be reduced. If an injection is not administered on time for objective reasons, resume treatment as soon as possible using the prescribed regimen.
Contraindications and side effects
Ribotan is a safe medication with no contraindications. There are no age, breed, or weight restrictions. Its use should only be discontinued in cases of intolerance to any of the ingredients, which is extremely rare.

The immunomodulator is well tolerated by pets and does not cause side effects. In case of intolerance, allergic reactions may occur. In this case, discontinue use of the medication. After this, the symptoms usually resolve on their own. In this case, no medications or treatment are necessary. If your pet's health worsens, consult a doctor.

Owner reviews
Alice, the Great Dane's owner:
"I use Ribotan for vaccinations on the recommendation of our veterinarian. I have no complaints about the medication. My dog tolerates the immunomodulator well."
Sergey, the pit bull owner:
"We constantly used tick and flea protection, but we contracted demodicosis. In addition to the antiparasitic treatment, the vet prescribed Ribotan to boost our immunity. The infection was successfully treated. We now use it periodically for prevention. We are very pleased with the results. We haven't noticed any side effects. The dog tolerates the injections well."
Veterinarian Reviews
Ekaterina, a veterinarian at a capital clinic:
"Ribotan is a good immunomodulator, but it needs to be used sparingly. For example, many owners give it for ringworm, but in this case, it may be ineffective. However, it's well-suited for enhancing the effectiveness of vaccines, as well as for preventative purposes. I advise owners to consult a doctor before using it."
Alexander, veterinarian:
"Immunostimulants provide significant support for the body in overcoming various pathologies because they boost resistance. Ribotan is one of these, but in my practice, I prefer products from foreign companies. Furthermore, their price is usually no higher than Ribotan's, or the price difference is insignificant, yet their effectiveness is significantly better."
