A dog breed that resembles a wolf
Breed characteristics of animals—exterior, personality, and other hereditary traits—can change exceptionally quickly as a result of selective breeding, sometimes to the point of being completely unrecognizable from their ancestors. Regarding the origin of dogs, there were long-held theories that either wolves or jackals were the ancestors of Canis familiaris. However, after the genomes of all three animals were studied, it turned out that the wolf, not the jackal, is the dog's closest relative. This is likely why there are so many wolf-like dog breeds.
