The most popular cat breeds
A cat is a wayward animal, often wandering on its own. But if you treat it with affection and love, you'll have a loyal companion for years to come.
In addition, today there are many breeds that, under the influence of breeders, have become socialized and adapted to life alongside humans.
Sphinxes
Although hairless cats are no longer a novelty, hairless breeds are considered exotic. These animals resemble small aliens or elves. Sphynx cats have large, wide-set, protruding ears, almond-shaped eyes, and finely folded, suede-like skin. The Sphynx's advantage is its lack of hair and strong odor. However, its skin quickly becomes greasy, requiring frequent bathing. Despite its formidable appearance and long claws, Sphynxes are distinguished by their gentle nature and devotion to their owners.

British
The British Shorthair is the complete opposite of the Sphynx. It has short fur with a dense undercoat, small ears, round eyes, and a slightly flat muzzle. It appears warm and plush. Unlike Sphynxes, British Shorthairs are much more likely to exhibit a temperament. Overall, they are well-balanced and undemanding. Today, many Russian cities host cat shows where you can not only see animals but also purchase a kitten of your favorite breed.

Persians
Long-haired Persians have found fans all over the world. Their appearance is simply adorable—their snub nose, small ears, and round, curious eyes. The breed's popularity has ebbed and flowed. Persian cats are difficult to groom. Their long fur requires constant brushing and trimming when necessary. Persians require special shallow bowls, as they simply cannot reach food from deep bowls.

Maine Coons
The Maine Coon is a favorite at modern cat shows. Who wouldn't want a pet lynx or tiger? But these cats aren't for small apartments. An adult can weigh up to 12 kg. A Maine Coon is first and foremost a predator, and this is important to remember. If you live in a multi-story building, windows and balconies should be protected with mesh. Otherwise, hunting for another bird or butterfly could end tragically. If you can't frequently invite friends over for your pet, it should be neutered. Maine Coons are very affectionate. Lack of sexual intercourse can cause serious health problems.
