What types of Nobivac vaccines are there for cats?
Vaccinations are necessary not only for purebred cats but also for stray cats. A veterinarian will select the correct vaccine after examining the cat. If the pet is alone in the house and the owners don't plan to let it outside, then Novibac Tricat Trio and Rabies from a Dutch manufacturer will suffice. Cats that will be outside in open contact with other animals are additionally vaccinated with the following vaccines:
- Nobivac Bb (from bordetellosis);
- Nobivac Ducat (as a replacement for Ducat for animals that have recovered from panleukopenia).

The price of Nobivac for cats varies from 500 to 700 rubles per bottle, depending on the veterinary pharmacy chosen.
When should kittens be vaccinated?
The instructions for the Nobivac Triket Trio vaccine for cats call for the first injection to be administered at 9 weeks of age and the second after 12 weeks of age. This protection will be sufficient for the kitten's initial stage of life.
At 9 weeks, the veterinarian also decides whether to vaccinate the animal with Rabies. According to the instructions, cats receive their first rabies vaccination at 3 months. However, if the epidemiological situation in the region is unfavorable, Rabies is administered together with Triket Trio at 9 weeks. However, the rabies booster dose is still given at 12 weeks.
Please note: the instructions for Nobivac for cats clearly state that the animal's body does not receive full protection immediately after the first vaccination. Only after the second injection, administered at 12 weeks, does the kitten develop specific immunity. Between the first and second vaccinations, it is recommended to keep your pet away from other animals. To maintain immunity, repeat vaccinations are recommended every year.
What diseases does Nobivac Tricat Trio protect against?
As the name suggests, the Tricat Trio vaccine protects your pet against the three most common diseases.
- Calicivirus is a contagious infectious disease that can cause mouth ulcers, loss of appetite, and even pneumonia, which can be life-threatening in cats.
- Rhinotracheitis affects the animal's respiratory tract. The disease is associated with calicivirus and is sometimes called "cat flu" because it causes all the classic symptoms, including high fever, sneezing, coughing, and nasal discharge. The disease is dangerous because it can be fatal for kittens and older cats. Also, the instructions prohibit vaccination if the animal has already developed the above symptoms.
- Panleukopenia (triggered by parvovirus) is a highly contagious disease that is fatal in most cases. Parvovirus is dangerous because it can survive in the environment for long periods of time and can be carried into a home on people's shoes. Therefore, even indoor cats that have never had contact with other animals are at risk.
Panleukopenia attacks the bone marrow, causing a deficiency of all blood cells. Parvovirus can also infect the brain of very young kittens, causing irreversible damage that ultimately leads to death. The most obvious symptoms of panleukopenia are vomiting and diarrhea.
Important! If your animal has survived panleukemia, only Ducat vaccine, not Tricat Trio, should be used for vaccination.
Why vaccinate your animal with Novibak Rabies?
A vaccine is prescribed to prevent rabies. Nobivac Rabies for catsThe instructions strictly prohibit administering the drug to weakened animals. In exceptional cases, vaccination of kittens and pregnant cats is recommended. The drug is safe for humans, as the suspension consists of cells inactivated by beta-propiolactone.

Despite the widespread use of vaccines, rabies Rabies remains the leading cause of death in pets. Both wild and domestic animals carry the disease. Rabies vaccination is essential not only to protect your cat's health but also for your own safety. In 2016, more than 50,000 people died from rabies, approximately 45% of which were children.
Rabies is an incurable disease. Therefore, if an animal shows dangerous symptoms, the vet will euthanize it. The situation is complicated by the fact that the early stages of rabies in cats are very difficult to detect. The animal becomes lethargic and avoids contact. Only in the later stages do breathing problems develop, which ultimately lead to death.
How safe and effective is the Nobivac vaccine for cats?
The instructions state that all Nobivac vaccines are "live" and are produced using a special culture fluid of a continuous cell line infected with the relevant viruses. To ensure the safety of both animals and humans, all pathogenic strains are inactivated. This means the viruses will be active enough for the pet's body to produce the necessary antibodies. However, the development of a full-blown disease after the injection is excluded.
Caution! It is a common misconception that vaccines can help if an animal is already sick. However, administering Nobivac medications is strictly prohibited if any signs of illness appear. Failure to do so may result in a deterioration in the pet's health.
If the vaccination was administered by a professional veterinarian after a thorough examination of the animal, no side effects are expected. In rare cases, slight swelling may occur at the injection site. The guaranteed duration of immunity is one year (provided the original, unexpired vaccine is used). After this period, a booster vaccination is required.
Instructions for use for cats
Nobivac is recommended to be stored at 2°-7°C in a sealed bottle for no longer than 3 years; after opening, no longer than 30 minutes at room temperature. Please note that prolonged exposure to high or low temperatures may negatively impact the drug's effectiveness. After the expiration date, the product must be disinfected and only then discarded. If Nobivac was purchased for home use, it is recommended to take the ampoules to the nearest veterinary pharmacy or clinic for disposal.

General instructions for administering Rabies are similar to those for a standard injection. Shake the ampoule and administer 1 ml of suspension subcutaneously. Before administering Triket Trio, add a special solvent to the ampoule and only then administer the injection to the animal. Only sterile syringes should be used for these procedures.
Important! Although the manufacturer states that there are virtually no side effects, there is always a risk of developing an individual intolerance. Anaphylactic shock is especially dangerous. At a veterinary clinic, your pet will receive immediate first aid. However, if the vaccination is being administered at home, it is advisable to purchase an ampoule of adrenaline. If choking occurs, administer 0.5 ml subcutaneously and take the animal to the clinic for further assistance. It is best not to skimp on your pet's health and entrust the vaccination to a professional immediately.
Real reviews of Nobivac Triket Trio and Rabies
Nobivac vaccines have been widely used in veterinary clinics for over five years. The drug is also recommended by the Russian Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance (Rosselkhoznadzor). Reviews from veterinarians and pet owners are generally positive.
Marina:
"I recently acquired a Don Sphynx kitten. Naturally, I immediately took it to the vet. The doctor recommended the Nobivac vaccine, which can immunize against both rabies and plague"The kitten tolerated the shot very well: no side effects or behavioral changes. I plan to take him for a booster vaccination in a year."
Anastasia Ivanovna:
"We have three children at home, so when a kitten arrived, I started reading about vaccines. One of the most common and affordable options was Nobivac. I bought two different types: Triket Trio and Rabies. I diluted them and administered them myself (as per the instructions). No side effects were observed."
Lisa:
"I have mixed feelings about the vaccine. I've been vaccinated my cat with Rabies at the clinic for three years, without any intervention. Everything is fine, no complications. Recently, I adopted a kitten from the street and asked to vaccinate him with the same Rabies. Within 24 hours of the injection, the little one started vomiting, and his stool became loose and green. The vet said the animal was weakened to begin with."
But it is best to rely on veterinarian reviews, which keep statistics on vaccine tolerance in animals.
Maxim Stanislavovich
"I've been using Nobivac since 2013. Overall, it's well-tolerated. A few years ago, there were some incidents with swollen subcutaneous lumps, but after a complaint, the manufacturer corrected the problem. If you follow the storage instructions and use only the original solvent for diluting the suspensions, there shouldn't be any problems. However, no one is immune to individual allergic reactions; the key is to take the necessary precautions promptly."
