It can also be used in female dogs to prevent problems with the mammary glands or genitals.
Content
Composition and release form
Mastometrin is produced as a solution for injection. The liquid is colorless and packaged in clear or dark glass vials. When purchasing, please note that the vials are available in 10 ml and 100 ml sizes. They must be hermetically sealed with rubber stoppers and aluminum foil.

The composition of the medicinal product includes the following homeopathic components:
- Meadow pasqueflower (Pulsatilla pratensis) normalizes hormonal balance and reduces prolactin production, excessive levels of which lead to mastitis. It also has an antiseptic effect, calms the nervous system, and enriches the animal's body with vitamins and essential minerals.
- Juniperus sabina (Juniperus sabina) has wound-healing and pain-relieving properties and tones the body. It promotes uterine contractions, thereby helping the bitch expel the placenta and pus. It has a positive effect on the functioning of the ovaries and mammary glands.
- Snake venom (Lachesis) improves circulation and initiates regeneration processes, which is especially important for genital ruptures and erosions. It has a positive effect on the vascular system, strengthens blood vessels, and prevents blood clots.
- Sepia (Sepia) is a liquid extracted from cuttlefish that calms the nervous system and promotes vasodilation. In animals with reproductive system disorders, it helps normalize estrus and improves muscle tone. It energizes the body, giving it the strength to resist the development of pathologies.
- ASD-2 strengthens the immune system and has a positive effect on the nervous system, as well as triggers cell renewal processes and normalizes water-salt balance.
Pharmacological properties
The combined homeopathic medicine has the following effect:
- eliminates inflammatory processes;
- promotes uterine contraction;
- starts regeneration processes;
- increases immunity, including local immunity, resistance to infections;
- improves blood circulation;
- promotes the removal of pus;
- restores hormonal balance;
- increases the bactericidal properties of cervical mucus.
The herbal ingredients in the medication are contained in small doses, so they do not accumulate in the body. The medication acts gently and gradually, with a cumulative effect. It usually takes several days to see results, although improvement may be observed after the first few injections.

Mastometrin is non-irritating and does not cause addiction with long-term use. It is classified as a low-hazard substance and does not cause poisoning or other adverse reactions.
Indications for use
Since Mastometrin has a positive effect on the reproductive system of pets, it is prescribed for the treatment of the following pathologies:
- endometritis of any type;
- mastitis;
- cystitis;
- mastopathy;
- dysmenorrhea;
- vaginitis.
This medication is prescribed for retained placenta, as its components stimulate uterine contractions and the expulsion of its contents. Mastometrin is also used prophylactically after childbirth to prevent all possible complications. If childbirth is accompanied by vaginal lacerations or other injuries, the risk of developing endometritis increases. The medication promotes wound healing, restores normal microflora, and prevents the spread of infection and inflammation. If acute endometritis is not treated completely or if ineffective medications are prescribed, it can develop into a chronic form, which often occurs without obvious symptoms. Using Mastometrin helps prevent this.

Normalizing hormonal levels after taking this homeopathic remedy helps eliminate mastitis, tumors, and cysts caused by increased prolactin production. When treating pyometra, Mastometrin is used to enhance the effectiveness of the main medications.
Although the medication is considered safe, you should consult a doctor before using it.
Instructions for use
The instructions for use state that Mastometrin can be administered to dogs in two ways: intramuscularly or subcutaneously. The dosage is calculated based on the animal's weight as follows: 0.1 ml of medication per 1 kg of body weight:
- for puppies and representatives of small breeds, a single dose varies from 0.5 to 2 ml;
- for medium-sized dogs, a single dose is 2-3 ml;
- For large pets, 3-4 ml will need to be administered at a time.
Injections are given 1-2 times a day to 2-3 times a week. The duration of treatment is determined by the veterinarian based on the animal's condition, the use of other medications, and other factors. The course of treatment should not exceed one month.
The treatment regimen depends on the progression of the disease, symptoms, and the dog's condition. To prevent postpartum complications, 1-2 injections are administered over 24-48 days. For acute conditions (mastitis, endometritis, etc.), the medication is administered 1-2 times daily, with the course lasting 5 to 7 days.

For chronic conditions, the medication is administered 2-3 times a week, and the duration of treatment varies from two weeks to a month and is determined by the doctor. To treat pyometra, one injection is administered daily for 10-14 days.
Mastometrin can be used in combination with antibiotics, symptomatic medications, and other medications. The instructions do not indicate any incompatibility with other medications.
Don't skip injections. Otherwise, the therapeutic effect may be reduced. If a dose is missed, administer the injection as soon as it occurs and resume the prescribed injection schedule.

The instructions state that Mastometrin is suitable for dogs of all breeds, ages, and weights, as it has no contraindications. The homeopathic remedy should be discontinued if there is an intolerance to any of its ingredients. Do not use the medication if you have a history of intolerance.

Owner reviews
Larisa, owner of a French bulldog:
"After our beauty's heat ended, she developed an inflammation. She developed an unpleasant odor and discharge. We visited various clinics, and doctors prescribed treatment, but it didn't produce the desired results. She wasn't getting any better. One vet suggested a hysterectomy, but I really didn't want to take such a drastic step (she's 9 years old). I stumbled across Mastometrin online. We completed a course of treatment, and all the problems went away. Now we use it regularly after her heat cycle, and we've had no more inflammation. It's an effective and safe medication!"
Lyudmila, the owner of the nursery:
"I first used Mastometrin to treat vaginitis in one of my female dogs. It helps relieve discharge. It's gentle and doesn't cause any side effects. I now use it frequently after giving birth. It helps prevent complications, inflammation, and suppuration. It's also effective for mastitis."
Nina, the greyhound owner:
"We developed endometritis due to a false pregnancy. The vet prescribed Mastometrin. We administered the medication for five days. Among the advantages, I would like to note the reasonable price and safety (the dog tolerates the injections well)."
Veterinarian Reviews
Svetlana, veterinarian:
"Mastomerin is a herbal preparation. It has a gentle effect on the body, promoting uterine contractions and restoring hormonal balance. I prescribe it for endometritis and mastitis, usually in combination with Ovariovit“In my practice, the medicine has repeatedly proven its effectiveness.”
Vadim, veterinarian:
"Mastometrin is a homeopathic remedy. I don't support such medications and believe that medications should be used for treatment. Although I've heard positive reviews from colleagues and clients, I think this is more likely a coincidence. I prefer traditional treatment."
