How Grandorf cat food came into being
The company's management tasked a group of employees with analyzing cat-lover forums featuring stories about commercial pet food and collecting advice and complaints. To the professionals' surprise, it turned out that veterinarians and breeders of purebred "furry cats" aren't the only ones who are well-versed in the quality of pet food. Ordinary owners also notice the impact of commercial food on their pets, monitoring changes in their appearance and health.

Based on the collected data, and under the guidance of animal nutritionists, the Belgian company Grandorf developed cat food containing the ingredients necessary for healthy development. The formula was holistic, and the product's production was based on the philosophy that "the key to a pet's health and appearance is a proper diet."
What is holistic?
Holistic isn't just a trendy term; it's a carefully balanced, premium food, the main component of which is meat, supplemented with essential vitamins and minerals. Every cat is a small predator, and scientists believe that at least 60% of their diet should be meat products. If the owner feeds their pet a natural diet, then 60% of the meat should be comprised of only 40% vegetables or cereal.
However, these same zoologists proved that human food is quite harmful, as thrifty owners rarely maintain this balance. Furthermore, not all human foods can be fed to cats, even if they beg for them very sweetly. So, specialized foods were invented. After some time, owners began complaining that not all pets could tolerate them, and deviations were observed. It turned out that even animals are prone to allergies and have individual digestive deficiencies. After some refinement, holistic foods emerged. Grandorf dry cat food is the leader among them; veterinarian reviews confirm that the formula is suitable for any breed.

Composition of Grandorf cat food
The composition is selected based on improving the health indicators of four-legged animals, and therefore is varied and minimizes the content of grain ingredients.
According to their content, it is divided into three groups:
- Low-grain – contains fat and dehydrated meat of lamb or turkey, krill from Antarctic waters, dried vegetables – carrots, sweet potatoes, as well as flax seeds, chicory, white whole rice and cranberries.
- Low-grain with probiotics - contains fat and dehydrated meat of rabbit, lamb, duck, or turkey, salmon oil, brown rice, krill, dried apples and cranberries, chicory, sweet potato.
- Grain-free - this is dehydrated cod and herring meat, turkey fat and meat, krill, dried carrots, sweet potatoes, spinach, apples, chicory and cranberries.
The ingredients and their careful combination make it clear that rice and sweet potato are sources of healthy carbohydrates, which, unlike regular potatoes, are easier on digestion. Rice also provides cats with fiber, while spinach and apples promote healthy bowel function. Flaxseed and omega acids from krill and salmon oils support healthy claws and fur, while cranberries enrich the cat with vitamins.
There's a common saying that chicken isn't meat, and that's true for Grandorf cat food. The company's management took into account zoologists' research and the preferences of small predators. Currently, Grandorf cat food does not contain chicken because wild cats don't eat it in the wild. Beef is also excluded, as it causes allergies, and pork is also not on the menu due to the abundance of fat and its heaviness on the stomach.
The meat part includes rabbit, turkey, duck or lamb, they are the easiest to digest and do not cause harm.
Types of feed by age
In addition to the low grain content, the company has taken care of cats' health by dividing their food into several groups, depending on their age and other characteristics.

For kittens from three weeks of age
Grandorf Kitten contains 70% meat. Because kittens have sensitive stomachs, a blend of two of the most dietary meats—turkey and lamb—was created for them. The remaining 30% consists of rice and a vitamin and mineral complex, supplemented with a small dose of chicory. Inulin contains the polysaccharide, which is vital for maintaining healthy and balanced intestinal flora. It is also suitable for pregnant cats.
For adult cats from one to six years old
This is one of the low-grain or grain-free foods mentioned above; some new products also contain brewer's yeast. This will make your four-legged friend's coat shiny and silky, just like we see on cats in commercials.
For sterilized cats
Neutered cats are prone to obesity, which can be corrected with proper nutrition, which is impossible to achieve with human food. Two types of food were developed for this purpose: Grandorf Sterilized and Grandorf 4 Sterilized. They include turkey and rabbit meat, vegetables, rice, brewer's yeast, and chicory, providing more protein than fat. This promotes well-being for cats, who don't feel like they're on a diet.
Food for cats with allergies
Grandorf Sensitive is for pets with extremely sensitive stomachs and intestines that react with irritability to any and allergens. It completely excludes all grains and allergen-containing foods. It features herring, krill, cod, turkey fat, flaxseed, fruit, and sweet potato, along with the right fatty acids and trace elements, including vital zinc, phosphorus, and potassium.
Pros and cons
Pros:
- the most complete amount of necessary holistic class components;
- 70% of the feed is meat, but there are no unidentified meat components;
- grain-free food;
- no soy;
- completely hypoallergenic components;
- no harmful gluten is used;
- no dyes, preservatives or flavorings are used;
- highly filling – provides a lot of healthy calories needed for an active lifestyle;
- a balanced amount of minerals, vitamins and even natural antioxidants to prolong the youth of animals.
Cons:
- The only downside is the price, but it's not that high. If you calculate your budget, you'll find that feeding a cat properly requires a lot of meat, which is several times more expensive than a month's supply of Grandorf cat food.

Reviews of Grandorf cat food are generally positive. If there are any questionable issues, it turns out that owners have tried to combine it with regular food, which is inappropriate.
Veterinarian reviews of Grandorf cat food
Alexander, veterinarian, 10 years of experience
I've been working with pet problems for a long time, and I often receive cats with urolithiasis from cheap, low-quality food. It turns out that they were being re-fed a natural diet, which only worsened the situation. Usually, cats die after this treatment. There's only one solution: to keep the animal alive, they need to be switched to high-quality dry food, and thenceforth they must eat only that. Among the normal foods, I liked Grandorf because it normalizes the urogenital system. With its help, I've saved many four-legged creatures who suffered from improper care.
Irina, veterinarian, 15 years of experience
Most often, people come to me for sterilization or to deal with the aftereffects of it. To avoid additional problems after the surgery, I recommend switching to Grandorf cat food for sterilized cats. It contains specially selected ingredients that reduce the cats' suffering and provides the necessary vitamin and mineral complex for rapid recovery.
Reviews from cat breeders
Svetlana breeds Scottish Fold cats.
I breed cats for sale, and it seemed like a significant expense, but I didn't want to risk feeding them cheap food. I found a solution: Grandorf. I liked the fact that it comes in a two-kilogram version, which is cheaper and more economical because cats eat their fill in small portions, unlike other expensive foods. I also noticed an improvement in the condition of their fur—it became softer and shinier. Clients couldn't bear to part with their kittens, and my business took off.
Vlad, Toyger breeder
Toygers are active cats, and a balanced diet is more important to them than to other breeds, especially for young kittens. I tried many different foods until I found Grandorf Kitten. Their condition has clearly improved; I've forgotten what it was like to have problems with my pets' stool, teeth, and fur.

My cats are quite large and fussy, and two of them actually have allergies. I never thought cats could have allergies, so I went to the vet, and they recommended switching to Grandorf hypoallergenic food. I also bought the others regular food, and within two weeks, I didn't recognize them—they were transformed into brilliant beauties, and it was as if the allergy problems had never happened.
Julia, the owner of an ordinary black cat
I have a simple black cat with short hair. At first, he ate natural food, but due to circumstances, I had to switch him to dry food. Due to my work, I have to be away from home for a day or two, and in the summer, food left out for the cat spoils quickly. At first, I was afraid to switch him to dry food; I read on forums that it could cause kidney stones. But a friend recommended Grandorf; she's been feeding it to her cat for a year now, and now I only buy it. The manufacturers claim it improves her coat, and it's true. Now I don't have an ordinary black cat, but a sleek and shiny miniature panther.
Grandorf – not just expensive food Premium-class products with the fashionable name "holistic" are guardians of any domestic cat's health, providing a complete, balanced diet containing 60-70% meat and a full range of vitamins and minerals. This means a caring owner can be confident in their pet's perfect health without worrying about its well-being. A properly formed skeletal system, freedom from stress, urinary tract problems, and digestive issues, as well as a stunningly beautiful, shiny coat, will bring joy to both the cat and its owners throughout its life.

I had two cats get sick from Grandorf cat food for spayed cats with a rabbit. They developed mitral valve prolapse, an incredible black discoloration appeared in their ears, and growths started appearing on their skin—this was after six months of feeding this food. This food is produced only for Russian cats, apparently as some kind of experiment; there's something harmful in it. I had to stop using it, and little by little, their health began to improve.

I've been feeding Grandorf for about six months... and the result: urolithiasis, right up to kidney failure!!! We've eaten nothing but Grandorf! No natural food! Yes, the quality of her coat improved after Royal, I couldn't be happier, and now...
Alexander
The food's ingredients are so good, especially for a Russian company, that it simply can't be true. The company's marketers took into account all the feedback from owners on forums and incorporated them into the packaging label.
In fact, the food is a dud.
Alexander
The food composition on the packaging, I would say, is ideal!!!
