Zooring dog food

Zooring dog food, a complete pet food made in Russia, has recently become increasingly popular. By analyzing the manufacturer and the product itself, you can determine whether these menus are reliable and meet all the stated characteristics.

Manufacturer

Zooring, a domestic pet food manufacturer, is located in the village of Gribki in the Moscow region, and production itself is carried out at a third-party facility—a common occurrence these days. According to the company, all of its food is produced exclusively on imported equipment and meets the highest international standards for pet nutrition. Leading nutritionists and veterinarians participated in the development of Zooring's formulas.

The American company Wenger's production line and vacuum injection of fats into pellets place Zooring diets on par with global market leaders. It's worth noting that all menus undergo nanotechnology-based molecular digestion, which improves product digestibility.

In addition to all the technological features, the manufacturer claims that all raw materials used to make the rations are of the highest quality and suitable for human consumption. It is also noted that each batch of products undergoes strict quality control and is certified. However, thanks to production in Russia, the price of the finished product is significantly lower than that of imported equivalents.

All these menus are available in 10 and 20 kg bags.

The professional line offers much greater variety. It's divided by breed size, age, and activity level. There's also food for fussy and neutered dogs. Duck, young bull meat, salmon, turkey, lamb, and veal are used as sources of animal protein. Rice is listed as a source of plant protein and carbohydrates; it's added to various recipes in combination with different types of meat or fish.

The Pro Series also includes foods with added chondroitin and glucosamine, available in various flavors. A special component is the chondroprotective agent, which is also present in many foods in the series.

There are more than 20 varieties in the Professional line, but all their differences come down to different combinations of the above components.

In addition to dry food, Zooring also offers wet food. These come in 100-gram foil packets and are available in the following flavors:

  • with white fish;
  • Moscow delicacy;
  • meat mix;
  • meat of young bulls.

In addition to this assortment, there is also fricassee made from the following types of meat: lamb, veal, salmon, turkey, rabbit.

Thanks to this selection, any breeder can choose the perfect food to meet their pet's needs. But what about quality? This can only be determined by learning the exact ingredients of Zooring dog food.

Compound

To find out exactly what Zooring food is made of, it's best to look at the ingredients in the Active Dog menu with salmon and rice from the professional line. This super-premium diet is the most versatile and suitable for most pets as a regular diet. Here's the list of ingredients:

  • dehydrated fish meat (salmon at least 50%) and poultry;
  • rice;
  • maize;
  • liver hydrolysate;
  • oils and animal fat.

This is the core of the formula. The remaining nutrients are more of an additive, as their proportion in the composition is quite small. The list continues with flaxseed, salmon fish oil, dehydrated yeast extract, and lysine monohydrochloride. A mineral and vitamin complex completes the list of ingredients. This is the entire composition listed on the package.

Guaranteed nutritional content is as follows:

  • Protein – 26%;
  • Fats – 15%;
  • Water – 9%;
  • Fiber 2.04%;
  • Ash content – 7.39%.

Energy value: 19.146 MJ/kg.

Protein

The protein sources in this menu are salmon and "poultry." Since the type and variety of poultry are not specified, it's logical to assume chicken is used. Both salmon and poultry are good sources of protein for dogs, but the original state of the ingredients—whether it's meat, whole carcasses, or even by-products—isn't specified. This lack of information doesn't provide a complete picture. In addition to meat, protein is also provided by grains: rice and corn contain small amounts of protein.

Fat

There are two sources of lipids: oils and animal fat, and salmon fish oilFish oil is an excellent source of lipids, and it also contains a lot of polyunsaturated omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids. However, there are questions about "oils and animal fats": what kind of oils are they, what quality are they, and where are they sourced from? All that can be said is that animal fat is usually low-grade and is obtained by rendering the waste from deboning carcasses.

Ingredients for feed

Carbohydrates

Rice and corn (essentially corn) are sources of carbohydrates, and judging by their position on the ingredient list, they're quite high in carbohydrates. Dogs need carbohydrates, but protein is more important, so meat would be more appropriate than grains. But what is, is.

Additional ingredients

  • Hydrolyzed liver is a natural flavoring agent. By removing water and adding enzymes, the liver acquires a strong, pleasant aroma, which is why it's often used in pet food. It's a good ingredient, but there's no indication whether the liver used is from poultry or animals.
  • Flaxseed is a source of Omega-3 fatty acids and many beneficial vitamins. It also contains fiber, which is beneficial for digestion.
  • Yeast is a source of vitamin B, especially beneficial for skin and coat. It is also a source of prebiotics.
  • Lysine monohydrochloride is an essential amino acid involved in calcium absorption. It is crucial for the health of your dog's bones and teeth.
  • A vitamin and mineral complex is a premix designed to provide the necessary level of micro- and macroelements in the diet.

Based on all of the above, we can conclude that the food meets the requirements for the premium nutrition segment, but does not reach the super-premium level, let alone the holistic class (as indicated by the manufacturer itself).

Price

The prices for Zooring brand dog food in the company's online store are as follows:

  • Active Dog with salmon and rice for adult pets: RUB 2,040 per 10 kg;
  • Zooring Lamb&Rice: 2300 rubles per 10 kg.;
  • Active Dog Standard bird mix: 1570 rubles for a 10 kg bag, and 2895 rubles for a 20 kg bag.

The other flavors cost about the same, with differences of several hundred rubles.

Wet menus cost 720 rubles per pack of 16 lamisters (that is, 45 rubles per 100g package), regardless of flavor.

Reviews

Karen Pogosyan, Laika breeder:

"When I got a dog, I was sure there was no better food than natural food. But then, when I ran out of time to cook, I decided to switch Orion to dry kibble. I looked online and decided to buy dog food." ZooRing – the reviews were good, and the price was attractive. At first, the dog was reluctant to eat it, but then he seemed to get the hang of it – it's now his regular food, and I have no complaints – he's healthy, active, and looks his best!

Vladimir, owner of Nessie the Pekingese:

"My beloved eats everything, so I decided to feed her commercially prepared food—it's more convenient, and the nutritional balance is better than what I could prepare myself. On the advice of a friend, I bought ZooRing food to try—it was sold at our pet store, where I buy everything I need. Nesne immediately started eating it with gusto, and she continues to do so—she loves the food, and that's all I need. And the price is reasonable—unlike the imported food."

Alexander Sergeev, a private practice veterinarian:

«My clients ask me to recommend good food for their pets. I do, but breeders are often concerned about the price—high-quality meat-based foods are quite expensive. A compromise might be a premium food, such as ZooRing. These are fairly high-quality foods that can be used for daily feeding. However, it's important to remember that when feeding dry kibble, regular veterinary checkups are necessary—after all, dogs aren't naturally suited to this type of food.".
