Sirius dog food
Sirius dog food is manufactured by the Russian company LimKorm, with production facilities in Shchebekino (Belgorod Region). The manufacturer positions it as a premium food made from natural ingredients without added dyes, preservatives, or flavorings, which can cause digestive upsets, skin conditions, and other health issues. Product range
Sirius offers complete feeds designed to fully meet the nutritional needs of animals of all ages without the need for additional vitamin and mineral supplements. There are four types of dry kibble available:
- Lamb with rice (for adult dogs).
- Lamb with rice (for puppies and young animals).
- Beef with vegetables (for adult animals).
- Meat diet (for adult dogs).
Note! Some online stores offer two additional types of adult dog food: one for small and one for large breeds, although there's no information about them on the manufacturer's official website. These stores may be selling leftovers of products that have been discontinued.
The products are available in plastic bags of 3, 15 and 20 kg.

Composition analysis
To take a closer look at the composition of Sirius foods, let's take the "Lamb with Rice" dry food for adult dogs as an example. Since judgments about food quality are typically based on the first five ingredients, which form the basis of the food, these are the ones to pay attention to first. In this sample, the first five ingredients are as follows:
- Dehydrated meat (poultry 26%, lamb 8%).
- Rice.
- Corn.
- Wheat.
- Chicken fat.
Further down the list are hydrolyzed meat proteins, dry yeast, and salmon oil (0.5%). The food is also enriched with the ProStor Bio Care probiotic complex (with beneficial bacteria, brewer's yeast autolysate, pectin complex, echinacea, and chamomile), as well as vegetables (dried pumpkin and celery).

As for the guaranteed analysis, the Sirius Lamb with Rice food has the following indicators:
- 9% – humidity.
- 25% – crude protein.
- 12% – crude fat.
- 3.5% – crude fiber.
- 8% – crude ash.
- 1.5% – calcium.
- 0.9% – phosphorus.
- 2.45% – total content of omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids.
Energy value: 3680 kcal/kg.
Squirrels
The food's ingredients are dehydrated poultry and lamb, with precise percentages listed: 26% and 8%, respectively. Given the low lamb content, the name "Lamb with Rice" is a bit of a misnomer. Furthermore, it's important to note that these animal protein sources are highly processed, and the product contains no fresh meat components.
The hydrolyzed meat protein listed in the ingredients also helps increase the overall protein content and improves the taste and aroma of the finished product.
Carbohydrates
Of the top five ingredients, three are grains: rice, corn, and wheat. Rice is considered the least allergenic, while corn and wheat are considered allergens but are also typical ingredients in premium pet foods.

Cereals serve as sources of plant protein and carbohydrates. Although their percentages are not specified, their presence at the beginning of the ingredients indicates that they are present in a relatively high proportion and likely form the basis of the food. As is well known, cereals are not part of the natural diet of carnivores, so they should not be present in large quantities, much less used as the basis of the food.
Fats
Sirius food contains two sources of animal fat. The first is chicken fat (ranked fifth), which is obtained during the processing of chicken meat and serves as a source of omega-6 fatty acids. Furthermore, its smell and taste are considered more appealing to dogs than other animal fats. However, the manufacturer does not specify which preservatives were used in its production. It can be assumed that it was vitamin E, a natural antioxidant, which is listed among the vitamin and mineral supplements.
The second source is – salmon oilThis high-quality ingredient is rich in essential fatty acids, which have a beneficial effect on heart function, overall health, and coat condition, which is especially important for long-haired pets.
Additional additives
The feed is additionally enriched with a number of useful additives that are necessary to replenish nutrient reserves and maintain the health of animals:
- Dry yeast is a source of B vitamins and helps improve the palatability of the food. However, the manufacturer doesn't specify whether it's brewer's or baker's yeast, so this ingredient is not reliable.
- ProStor Bio Care is a complex of probiotics and plant extracts that helps normalize the gastrointestinal tract of animals and has an immunomodulatory effect by improving the body's natural defenses.

- Dried pumpkin is a healthy vegetable that serves as a source of pectin, fiber, carbohydrates and is suitable for animals with sensitive digestion.
- Dried celery is a source of vitamins and nutrients that have anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and calming effects, and help normalize sleep.
It should be noted that the indication of these ingredients at the end of the composition, as well as the absence of percentage indicators, indicates that there are too few of these additives in the feed to provide a real beneficial effect.
A number of vitamin and mineral supplements are also added to the formula. These supplements are typically added to compensate for deficiencies in the raw materials used, as well as due to the specifics of the dry food manufacturing process. However, this is considered normal for the industry and does not indicate good or bad product quality.
Thus, the advantages of Sirius dog food include the presence of animal protein sources—specifically, poultry and lamb—at the top of the ingredient list, as well as a good vitamin and mineral profile. Among the disadvantages, the lack of fresh meat ingredients is worth noting. Furthermore, the top five ingredients include three types of grain, including corn and wheat, which are quite allergenic. It's likely that the food is rich in carbohydrates and plant protein rather than animal protein, which is not the best nutritional choice for dogs. The manufacturer also doesn't specify which preservatives and antioxidants it uses in the production of its dry kibble.

The price of Sirius dog food depends on the package size and the chosen flavor:

- 15 kg – from 2205 rub.
- 20 kg – from 2860 rub.

Reviews
Since Sirius dog food has only recently appeared on the Russian market, there aren't many reviews from dog owners online. However, most owners are satisfied with this diet for their pets, with the exception of rare cases of allergies, which may be related to individual animal characteristics.
Lyudmila, the husky's owner:
"After a couple of months of feeding Sirius, we haven't noticed any issues. The dog eats with great pleasure, his coat is shiny, and he hasn't developed any health issues, although he's prone to gastritis. The food is a great price and he's an active pet! What more could an owner want?"
Dina, the beagle's owner:
"I was cautious the first time I tried Sirius Lamb & Rice for my pet's young dog food. Firstly, it was a new product, and secondly, the packaging was quite large. It turned out that all my concerns were unfounded: the kibble size is perfect even for small pets, the scent is pleasant, and my pet eats it with gusto and no ill effects. An additional advantage for me is the affordable price, despite the fact that the quality of the food is no worse than similar products that cost several times more."
Yuri, owner of two dogs:
"We bought Sirius food for a seven-month-old puppy, but after a while, something resembling an allergy appeared in his stomach. However, our older dog, who previously had no idea what to feed him, happily eats the dry food. Now he's more active and has no digestive issues, so we'll continue buying it."

Good afternoon! I'd like to purchase Sirius 20 kg Lamb and Rice food for large dogs. I'd like to know the price. Thank you.
Catherine
What's the point of calling the food Lamb and Rice when it's practically all chicken? I wanted to buy it for my dog, but I don't even dare because of my chicken allergy!

Our transition from Hill's to Sirius went perfectly. We have a Golden Retriever puppy. Other than the price, there's no difference. I also started giving Sirius to the cats. Everything is great too. By the way, it's written incorrectly here: the food for small and large breeds is the new product, not the old stock.

I bought Sirius puppy food for my Ambul (American Bulldog), lamb and rice. I gradually transitioned the puppy to Sirius, and while he was on Sirius exclusively, that's when the worst part began. He developed allergic rashes on his tummy, ears, and neck, and his face and body were red. He had diarrhea and vomiting. Basically, it was a disaster for the puppy. He didn't even finish the three-kilogram package. Of course, I won't buy it. And other breeders should watch their pets when choosing food. All the best to everyone.
