Dog food Pedigree
For Russian consumers of the 1990s, when Western corporations burst onto the market, there was a strong association with the dog food brand they most often heard about. Of course, it was Pedigree. ChappieBoth brands are often associated not only in the minds of consumers, but also on store shelves and supplier price lists. This is no coincidence—both foods are Mars products. We'll discuss Chappie in another article, but today we'll share with you reviews of Pedigree dog food from veterinarians, its ingredients, and features.

Pedigree: Composition of food for dogs and puppies
As you know, Pedigree food belongs to the economy class for dogs, although there is an opinion that it is premium class food For dogs. Let's not argue about this, but rather try to break down the ingredients of Pedigree food "piece by piece" so everyone can decide for themselves which category this product belongs to.
Wet food
The most detailed composition of Pedigree wet food pate for adult dogs of small breeds with beef, taken from the official website of the company: meat and by-products (including beef 4%), fiber, minerals, vegetable oil, vitamins. Nutritional value (per 100 g): proteins - 7.0 g; fats - 3.5 g; ash - 1.0 g; fiber - 0.6 g; moisture - 85 g; calcium - not less than 0.1 g; zinc - not less than 1.8 mg; vitamin A - not less than 120 IU; vitamin E - not less than 0.9 mg.

What should you pay attention to?
- What order do ingredients appear in? According to Russian law, the predominant component of a product must be listed first. That is, the higher the percentage of a component, the higher it will be listed. Meat and by-products are listed first—that's what matters!
- The absence of, at a minimum, unclear and obviously suspicious components – everything is simple and clear.
- If beef is 4%, what are by-products? And why is there so much of them?
This is actually a separate and very complex topic. Let's try to explain the most important components of this issue:
- Offal is a by-product of meat production (tails, liver, heart, kidneys, stomach, etc.)
- Offal is divided into two categories based on the protein content of its tissues. (Conventionally, the stomach contains more protein than the tail, making it more valuable.)
- By-products are divided into several groups according to their digestibility and nutritional value, and this is one of the key criteria for the manufacturer to select feed.

It's been proven that the more nutritional value a meat has, the more desirable it is for an animal. Therefore, statistically, your pet will eat gizzards much more readily than, say, lungs. Therefore, what should primarily concern us when it comes to product composition is not the presence of by-products, but their quality. Returning to Pedigree, unfortunately, the manufacturer doesn't provide any identifiers for the by-products that enrich the food.
Let's compare it with its super-premium analogue: POODLE ADULT (PATE) from Royal Canin.

Ingredients: meat (pork, chicken), salmon, corn starch, cellulose, fish oil, sunflower oil, sugar, natural flavor, marigold extract (source of lutein) - amino acids (taurine, methionine, L-carnitine), stabilizer (polysaccharide thickener) - minerals (zinc, iron, manganese, sodium, phosphorus, potassium, chlorides, iodine, copper, calcium, zinc in chelated form, manganese, magnesium in chelated form, copper in chelated form) - vitamins (niacin, C, D3, E, choline, calcium pantothenate, B1, B2, folic acid, biotin, B6, B12).
Nutritional value: Protein (%) 9.00, Fat (%) 5.80, Total fiber (%) 1.10, Minerals (%) 1.80 (you can see the full list on the Royal Canin page)
What conclusions can we draw? The super-premium "analogue" contains more protein and fat, as well as minerals and vitamins. And, which, according to veterinarians, largely determines the price of wet food, the energy value of Royal is almost 1.5 times higher than Pedigree. What does this mean for a pet? It's simple: to be full, a pet needs 1.5 times more Pedigree than Royal. The quality of by-products is also not mentioned for the super-premium test subject. They write meat... Well, if meat is meat, then that's not what we're talking about here.
Dry food
The main component of all Pedigree sales is, of course, dry food. Let's take a closer look at its ingredients. Let's take as an examplePedigree First food for puppies from 3 weeks with chicken.

Detailed composition of Pedigree food for puppies: rice, corn, chicken meal, protein plant extracts, beet pulp, meat meal, sunflower oil, animal fat, brewer's yeast, minerals, vitamins, glucosamine.
Nutritional value: Nutritional value (per 100 g): proteins - 30 g; fats - 15 g; ash - 7 g; fiber - 4 g; moisture - no more than 10 g; calcium - 1.2 g; phosphorus - 0.8 g; sodium - 0.3 g; potassium - 0.55 g; magnesium - 0.12 g; zinc - 25 mg; copper - 2.0 mg; vitamin A - 1500 IU; vitamin E - 20 mg; vitamin D3 - 150 IU; vitamin B1 - 1.0 mg; vitamin B2 - 1.35 mg; vitamin B5 - 7.5 mg; vitamin B12 - 8 mcg; niacin - 5.3 mg; choline - 350 mg; omega-6, omega-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids; glucosamine.
Energy value (per 100g): 380 kcal / 1591 kJ.
What should you pay attention to?
- The first two ingredients are rice and corn. What does this tell us? That's right, the main component of the food isn't meat.
- Chicken meal is #3 and meat meal is #5. There's very little meat, and obviously a different production technology is used. We need to figure out what kind of meal this is, why there's so little of it, and compare it to similar super-premium dry food.
- Pay attention to the nutritional value. Although the food contains little meat, the protein content and energy value of Pedigree dry food are several times higher than that of the same brand's wet food.
Compare with Proplan Large puppy athletic.

Feed composition: Chicken (17%), corn, dry poultry protein, wheat, gluten, animal fat, processed vegetable products, rice (4%), flavoring feed additive, dry beet pulp, fish oil, minerals, vitamins, colostrum (0.1%), antioxidants.
Energy value (100g): 370.2 kcal
What conclusions can we draw?
- The composition of Pedigree dog food is obviously “inferior” in terms of meat content
- On the other hand, it does not contain gluten and flavoring additives.
- The energy value is comparable
Pedigree puppy food clearly contains cheaper ingredients, and most of it consists of rice and corn, whose energy value, according to veterinarians, is not comparable to that of meat ingredients. On the other hand, ProPlan contains only 17% meat and contains flavor enhancers and gluten. This, combined with its significantly higher price, may also be a drawback for this super-premium dog food.
Owner reviews of Pedigree dog food
In addition to the food's ingredients, there are also reviews from people who use Pedigree food daily. After analyzing the reviews from dog owners who use (or have used) Pedigree food, we can draw the following conclusions and conclusions:
- There's a myth that Pedigree dog food is poisonous (or something along those lines). We analyzed the ingredients today and found more questionable ingredients in super-premium alternatives than in Pedigree. On the other hand, the quality of the by-products remains an open question.
- This is the second complaint about the food. There's a common misconception that the ingredients are exclusively horns and hooves. We can neither confirm nor deny this. You'll have to rely on your own judgment and weigh the pros and cons. Our portal's opinion is that Mars is too serious a company to skimp on such things, but we don't force that opinion on anyone.
- It's obvious the dogs love this food. Some comments attribute a narcotic effect to this food. We'll leave that without comment.
- Dry food still uses coloring agents: green and red colors imitate the vegetable components of the food, while the world's leading manufacturers have long abandoned this practice in favor of a healthier format (even, uniform dark brown pieces).
Veterinarian Reviews of Pedigree Dog Food
Veterinarians have had mixed reviews about this food. Some vets consider it a high-quality, budget-friendly food and don't expect it to be a godsend. It clearly doesn't contain any harmful ingredients. However, the numerous negative comments from owners can be boiled down to one simple fact: Pedigree is one of the most affordable pet foods, making it widely used. And the more people use it, the larger the relative number of those experiencing gastrointestinal problems in their pets.
It's trivial to say that if everyone fed their four-legged friends any other food, the percentage of negative reviews would be statistically significant. Certainly, there are veterinarians who are strongly opposed to budget-class pet foods in general, with Pedigree being the most popular, believing that this food doesn't provide all the nutrients necessary for a dog's healthy functioning.
To summarize, Pedigree is not a harmful food, but the quality of the by-products is questionable, and it's unclear whether it's a complete food. Therefore, if you value your pet's health and are willing to spend a little more, consult with your veterinarian and find the most suitable super-premium complete food for your dog. Or, as most people do, alternate Pedigree with high-quality natural nutrition—this option is likely the best value for money.

My Yorkies also love to crunch on Pedigree.

A very interesting comparison of food ingredients. I noticed that two brands of food are used, both on display at veterinary clinics. Incidentally, they even push various additives from these two brands. So, advertising these products is a money-making endeavor. This explains veterinarians' attitude toward Pedigree. I read the ingredients of Proplan myself. There's no meat listed at all. So, buy it for your dog's health, as long as he eats and feels well. Mine, for example, won't eat holistic food at all. We're on a natural diet.

Can I feed a puppy under 12 months old food that says "for dogs 12 months and older"? My dog accidentally ate a few and absolutely loved it. She no longer wants to eat her regular food.

Hello! How old is your pet? It's one thing if they're 10-11 months old, another if they're six months old. You can switch to age-appropriate food from the same brand or a different manufacturer (experiment with flavors). A few small amounts won't cause any harm. They're not poisonous. However, the transition to any other food should be gradual (replace ¼ of the usual diet every 3-5 days). Exception: switching to a therapeutic series of food or an elimination diet for allergic reactions of unknown etiology (to rule out or confirm food allergies). In other cases, the transition should be gradual.

We have a two-year-old Yorkie who also prefers Pedigree pate, absolutely loves it. We've tried expensive wet and dry food, but he turns his nose up at it. He eats it very well, has no allergies, doesn't shed, and is an active little guy.
Taras
We've tried many of the Pedigree products, but the beef and lamb are probably our favorite. The ingredients and proportions are both great, and it smells just as good.

I never thought my Astra would eat Pedigree. I heard the food wasn't tasty. But my dog loved it and has been on it for three years now. She's healthy and active. It's an unpredictable food.
Andrey
I don’t see anything chemical or forbidden in the food, that’s why I buy it.
Dasha
My dachshund, Masha, loves Pedigree. I feed it on a schedule, but my bully would probably eat it constantly. But that's not right; it could cause health problems.
Provide food as prescribed and your pets will be healthy.

My little one loves Pedigree. I've been feeding her this food for over 7 years. I wanted to write a review to support this food. It's filling, edible, and has a good composition.
And here I see mixed reactions, to be honest, for me it's a surprise. It's probably normal for there to be dissatisfied people. It's the same with absolutely everything. You can't please everyone, as my mother likes to say.
Ira
My Jessica eats both dry and wet food with pleasure.
I just know some dogs turn up their noses when something's wet, but we don't have that. He loves everything and eats everything.
Artem
Sometimes after work I run home hungry, feed the dog, and my mouth starts watering. Pedigree looks so delicious.
Naturally, I’ve never tried it myself, but sometimes I want to).
Zahar
My dog beats Pedigree so much that sometimes I want to try it myself)))

We couldn't decide on a food for a long time; we tried different ones. We got tired of many of them, others caused health problems, and others were insanely expensive. But this food is the best option. Now the problem of choosing a food is gone; my dog has finally made his choice and turns his nose up at others. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone, but I will say that it's a decent food and the price is right for everyone.
Lera
We tried Pedigree with chicken. My dog loved it. But it's a one-time treat, not something to be fed regularly. In my opinion, a dog's diet should include cereals, fruits, and vegetables for a healthy digestive tract. Pedigree pâtés are good to buy occasionally as treats for your pet.
Lesnova Yana
My dog has been eating Pedigree for a month. I figured it's affordable. It has a pleasant smell and consistency. George really likes it; he wags his tail when I pour out the food, and then he eats everything from the bowl quickly. I don't know what will happen in the future, but for now I'm more than happy with this food.
Snezka
We feed Pedigree dry food, and less often wet food. Not a single bite is left from the table. For me, the benefits are that the food is balanced and the dog is healthy—that's the most important thing.
marlenaborisyuk
My dog's breeder fed Pedigree to both her parents and puppies. I like it and it's perfect for my dog. I buy it in large packages so it lasts a long time and doesn't require frequent trips to the store. She's 7 years old, her teeth are intact, her coat is shiny, she's active, and in her prime.
Olga
My dog died today, she was 7 years old. I only fed her dry Pedigree and wet food once a day. She had cirrhosis of the liver.
Taya
I liked that my dog's stool was normal and not smelly right away with this food. We tried other foods, but none of them worked for us, even though he ate them all with gusto; he's not picky at all. I monitor his health and stool, and now my dog is doing well, which means he's healthy.
Valyusha
I used to scrutinize the food packaging carefully from the very beginning, and now I trust it completely. I only check the expiration date when buying food. My dogs eat Pedigree well and love it.
Valya
There's a lot of controversy online about what's best to feed and how. Some experts say dry food can be given as a complement to natural food, while others don't. I chose what my dog wanted; he eats Pedigree kibble as a treat sometimes. He also likes to crunch on it, just like I do with sunflower seeds. It's true that dogs have the same habits as people. Dogs need tasty snacks too, at least in my opinion.

I recently learned how to groom dogs. I really enjoy this craft and can give my Lily creative haircuts. The other day, a client brought in her beloved Yorkie, Fina, a gorgeous, noble creature. She particularly noticed her healthy, thick coat, and when we got to talking, it was all because of Pedigri food. Yes, that's right. This food is 100% complete and balanced, and it comes in both dry and wet varieties. The dry food pieces on the surface contain active ingredients that help reduce tartar buildup, are good for the gastrointestinal tract, and contain natural fiber and easily digestible protein. It's wonderful for its skin and coat, and most importantly, it's good for the immune system. It contains vitamin E, copper, and selenium, which play a key role in supporting the immune system. We will gradually switch to Pedigrii; I saw a healthy and active dog as an example.
Larisa Viktorovna
I feed my cocker spaniel mostly dry food. He loves to crunch on it and brush his teeth at the same time. But I also supplement with wet Pedigree in sauce. There are several types. I've tried beef, chicken, and lamb in sauce. They all smell and look the same, I think, and their brownish color indicates real meat. The packs are small and individually portioned. Although a single-serving pack may not be enough for a large dog, it's more suitable for small and medium-sized dogs. One pack is enough for one meal for mine. The package weighs 100g. The price per pack is 17 rubles. I buy 10 packs at a time to keep in the refrigerator. Once opened, they don't last long; they're eaten in no time and always ask for more. Although the food can be stored without refrigeration.

I professionally show my dog, Molly, a Spitz. It's very important to Molly and me to achieve high results in competitions. We work hard every day to ensure that my future champion is not only healthy but also beautiful.
Of course, shampoos, various conditioners and grooming services are important for my dog,
But I also consider proper and healthy nutrition to be the most important thing. As soon as I got a dog, a friend recommended feeding her Pedigree food. She has been working professionally with dogs for a long time and knows a lot about dog food. I buy Pedigree wet food for adult dogs of all breeds, with beef and chicken. I also give her Pedigree Denta Stix dental care treats every day. It reduces tartar by 80% and prevents the risk of developing oral diseases. This is important for Molly, since one of the tasks at a dog show requires demonstrating to the judge the presence of teeth and the bite. Her teeth need to be in good condition. Thank you very much for products like Pedigree.

The dog stopped shedding constantly. I was feeding him from the table, but there were always some problems. We switched to Pedigree, and everything changed for the better. I should have given him Pedigree right away; I think it would have been better for everyone.

"Hi everyone!!! Six months ago we were given a tiny dog. A Pomeranian. My daughter and I have always loved this breed, and then we got this gift. My daughter and I immediately decided to feed our little girl Pedigree ready-made food. We don't have time to cook our dog's food from natural ingredients, but we've heard about Pedigree for a long time; we have friends who also feed it. Our Shelly loves Lamb in Gravy; we think she fell in love with this food right away, judging by how greedily she eats it. We wanted to experiment with other brands, but we were afraid that something might happen to her health. With Pedigree, our stool is normal. She is active, playful, and clearly has no problems.
This type of food is convenient for those who don't have time to prepare food for their pets, and it's a lifesaver for us. Bon appétit to your pets!
Valya
Is it okay that the dog prefers Pedigree wet food and eats it almost all the time? I buy dry food, but it's not working for us. Even though the kibble is the same and tastes good, I don't understand why Basya prefers wet food.
Okasana
Good article. I agree with the authors in some ways, and disagree in others. In fact, anyone starting to feed commercial food should understand that it's not homemade, so every food has its pros and cons. I can say one thing: I personally haven't found a better food for my dog than Pedigree. It has a well-balanced formula and sufficient vitamins. Creating a similar homemade diet would take a lot of time, and I don't have that. So for me and my dog, this is the best option.
Annette
We eat pedi, good food!
Karina
We have a Yorkie named Tim. When we were getting a dog, one of the main questions I had was about feeding him. After all, it's usually the mothers who do that, not the kids who really wanted a dog. I talked to a neighbor who has a similar dog, and she said they feed him exclusively homemade food, cooking meat, vegetables, and so on every day—in other words, they plan his daily diet entirely on their own. But I'm at work from morning until evening, plus I travel for business, so I have no time to think about all that. So, the question of getting a dog was up in the air. Then I ran into another friend with a Yorkie, and she told me it was very easy, the dog isn't picky, and most importantly, he eats Pedigree. I was very surprised; for some reason, I didn't even know such special food for small dogs existed. I came home, looked at the diets online, and there was so much variety, and everything was so delicious, simply superb. So, that same month, we became Tim's parents. We feed him Pedigree. I mostly buy him wet food because he eats very little, and I think it's healthier. But we also have a bag of dry food, and sometimes we take it with us in our purse if we're traveling and need to feed him outside the house. Tim is happy, healthy, and cheerful, and so are we. With this kind of feeding, he gets nothing but joy from us.
Vikalina
We feed our Labrador puppy Pedigree dry food. We don't soak the kibble. The puppy chews the kibble easily and doesn't choke on it whole, which is very important because he always eats in a hurry. We haven't seen any allergies, although Labradors are often allergic, and this food, to our great surprise, has been a good fit.
Nonna
My dog likes the food; he doesn't eat it obsessively, but it's clear there are no added flavors. He eats exactly as much as the package recommends. I also noticed that the Pedigree is a bit moist, even semi-wet, but after meals, Basya drinks water just like he does after regular dry food, which I think is a good thing. We buy a 13 kg bag; it costs between 1,500 and 1,700 rubles each, depending on the store. It lasts a month, and nothing goes to waste, as long as you store it properly.

I love our dachshund and, of course, I'm not afraid to spoil him. I usually buy Pedigree canned food for that. For the price, they have the best ingredients and the food looks good, the pieces are very appetizing, and I haven't noticed any off-putting odor. By the way, I want to mention the convenient packaging with a notch; even my three-year-old son manages to eat it without any problem. Even though our dog is an adult, she still loves wet puppy food. Maybe it's more tender and has a nicer taste. I'm just afraid she doesn't get as many nutrients that way, so I sometimes mix her with dry food for adults. I haven't seen any negative effects; she's still very clean, playful, and healthy, so I can recommend it to your dogs without a doubt.
Rita
We recently started eating it, and so far he's loving it. My dog has constant allergies to dog food; some leave hair all over the apartment, while others make him gain weight like crazy, turning into a fluff ball. I thought dry food wouldn't work for us, but no, after trying Pedigree, he had no negative reactions. He also likes the ingredients; it doesn't smell or taste like sawdust. We're so glad we found it, and I hope there won't be any pitfalls while we're on Pedigree.
Cleo
Dog food is the same as cheap sausages, cold cuts, instant noodles, and chips for humans. We're being poisoned mercilessly. Do you really think animals will be fed any better?
Anya
I've been buying Pedigree for my dog for a year. I fill his bowl to the brim, and he doesn't leave a crumb or ask for more, so he's got everything he needs. I see some people writing that dogs get too used to the food and immediately run over to it like they're addicted at the sight of the package. We haven't noticed this, but it probably depends on the dog's personality and training. Mine eats calmly and happily, but if you've already switched to one brand, I recommend not mixing it with other foods or homemade food. We've had constipation and generally had a sad dog, perhaps because he was feeling a bit heavy, but since we started feeding him only Pedigree, he's been happy every day; the food is perfect.
Larisa Yu.
We've always had a problem with my pug, Bucks, eating all kinds of food well, but he quickly gets bored and starts acting up. We recently tried Pedigree. I'm still monitoring his progress, but this is his fifth pack, and I've only bought different flavors. So far, thank God, he's eating it and enjoying it. Maybe we've finally found the right food. I can't say anything bad about him; he's been fine so far, and he's active and happy.
Milana
I really like Pedigree wet food. One pouch costs next to nothing, and for my dog, it's a complete meal. He doesn't get bored because there are so many different meat options. Plus, my dog developed a chicken allergy, so we started feeding Tom beef, lamb, and rabbit—there are still plenty of options, despite his allergy. Our pet is doing well, is active and happy, and has no digestive issues. Plus, it's very convenient for me, no secret). He opens a pouch and that's it.

Pedigree is my Pomeranian Busy's favorite food. As soon as we bought our little miracle, we immediately had to figure out what and how to feed him. There were so many options at the store, but I bumped into a girl at the display case with a Pomeranian just like ours, and she recommended Pedigree. So, we've been buying it since day one. Busy loves both wet and dry food; you need to alternate, so we do, as recommended. We used to buy him puppy food, but now we've bought adult dog food, as our little friend has grown. It's excellent food; both he and I love it. He's never had any health problems, so we're happy with this brand, and his coat is simply wonderful. My Busy is beautiful, fluffy, and soft.
Nikita
When you open the package, the smell isn't overwhelming. We used to buy food that smelled in the room; they must have overdone it with the fragrances. I conclude that Pedigree is safer for my dog.
Nastya
I'm a little concerned that my dog isn't drinking much water. I've heard that people who eat Pedigree drink a lot, but for some reason mine doesn't.
Dasha
You meant "drinks a lot of water"? Well, that doesn't mean anything. My dog drinks little, and my dog drinks a lot. We're both on Pedigree, so it's probably individual. Just remember to give her clean water, and she'll figure out whether she wants to drink or not.
Vlad
Food is poison for people who don't love their pets, buying cheap, affordable stuff and commenting that the dog likes it, so try eating crap yourself. But no, we like better things.
Olga
It seems to you that you are eating something better, but in fact it is also a big question what they put into our food.
Svetlana
Sorry, Vlad, but I disagree! For many years, I fed my pets various expensive foods, and there were problems: frequent regurgitation, occasional loose stools, severe shedding, even to the point of hair loss in certain areas of the body. Over the past three years, I've switched them to Pedigree MINI dry food, sometimes combining it with Pedigree pate cubes (there's been a change in their appearance, and the problems have disappeared). My Miniature Pinscher is 14 years old, a lively and happy guy... My male Toy Terrier is 9 years old, he devours dry food so much that his cheeks are cracking, and he's even gained weight. We got the female Toy Terrier from my mother-in-law two years ago; she was bald, and my mother-in-law fed her everything, sparing no expense. Now our Nora is 13 years old, she's grown up, and I feed all three the same—PEDIGREE food. We had a Doberman, and for the last six years we fed him CHAPPY dry food. He was the only Doberman in our city who lived to be 14 years old... I think it's all individual...
Elena
I fed my dogs expensive premium Sup., which resulted in more problems and a shorter life. I'll write briefly; it would take too long to explain everything and explain the reasons. Senior citizens jump through hoops on Pedigree, whereas on one of the premium Sup. brands from Italy, they started fainting in the street. Their immunity, color, and other characteristics are much higher. I always taste-test all the food: Pedigree now resembles premium Sup., which we had 20 years ago and are no longer so. Currently, Mars is one of the most honest manufacturers on the market. I've even raised heavy dogs with digestive issues on the puppy food (starter) from 3 weeks old, after surgeries. I have a Yorkie and a Chinese Shepherd.
Ruslana
I was feeding him natural food, but I couldn't balance his diet because my Salvador has issues. We tried various vitamins, but they didn't work. We switched to Pedigree, and everything returned to normal. He has no gastrointestinal issues, and his ears and nose are healthy. He's active and friendly, and everything is as usual. I won't recommend food; everyone will choose what's best for their pet, but I just want to say that Pedigree worked for us.
Alice
We gradually switched our little girl over to Pedigree. She started drinking a lot more water, but that's normal. Her stools haven't changed at all; they're still soft. But her fur has become so shiny! My little husky is black and white, and the black patches of her fur shine like a polished samovar in the sun. The food is good, I know that for sure.
Pauline
I have one fussy eater, she used to turn up her nose a lot, always eating however she wanted and whenever she wanted. Sometimes she'd eat once a day, sometimes a button every other day.
She ate new food with interest, but then lost her appetite. And we have a rule: if you don't eat, you're not hungry. No one chases anyone else with food. Recently, I started buying Pedigree, and both dogs eat it with pleasure. Even my picky eater licks the empty bowl after feeding. This food has become a hit with us; my dogs have been eating it exclusively for six months now.
Sergey
It feels like the reviews are written by the Pedigree manufacturers. I can't say anything about the treats, but I can say something about the food! I adopted a puppy who was fed Pedigree dry food! He ended up with rickets, sores on his hind legs, and shedding fur that looked like ringworm in places! I fed him meat, and the sores healed, his fur became shiny. Now I've switched him to Guabi Natural. Feed only premium quality food to puppies! And don't listen to the fairy tales about Pedigree.
Svetlana
Sorry, Sergey! I disagree with the reviews (from manufacturers). I'm also registered on Odnoklassniki, under the rare name Svetlana GAUN-KIRSHINA, where I have an album of my dogs. I wrote a review of PEDIGRI earlier; I'm happy with the food from this manufacturer. I think it's all individual, but this food suited my pets very well. Price isn't an indicator of whether the food is bad or natural...
Elena
Sergey, Pedigree is premium for those who don't know. Moreover, it has a HACC (food safety) certificate. Not even all premium pet foods have this certificate. I've bred several litters on Pedigree; you can come and see them, and I've never had the same problems with any of them as I did with the more expensive ones. Your problem was more likely due to the breeder than the food. While there's no 100% guarantee, and every situation is individual, believe me, bald spots aren't the worst I've experienced in the past: reactions to deworming, vaccinations, and the death of puppies due to weakened immune systems—all with well-known super-premium brands.
Anton
I have a fairly large dog, and feeding him is very challenging; he eats a lot. Since he eats a lot, we looked for a cheaper, but still high-quality food. The store clerk suggested Pedigree, saying it's perfect for our needs. I buy large bags of food, and it lasts a really long time, making it easy on my wallet. It's important that my dog is healthy; he's my protector. If the food hadn't been suitable, I would have obviously chosen something else, but everything is fine and everyone is happy.
Tom
This food smells really good, and my dog likes it. I started buying Pedigree last year when he started having problems with his stool. Before that, we were using a different food. Now that he's playful, Pedigree is perfect for him.

Several generations of dogs in our family have been raised on Pedigree. So, after all this time, I can confidently recommend this food. Because the dogs have never had any health issues with it, they're always active, have beautiful coats, and their test results are so good they could be sent to space. That's actually why we chose this food ourselves.

We've raised two dogs on Pedigree, and we're currently raising a third. We're completely satisfied with the food, both in terms of price and how much our dogs love it. And most importantly, their health is always excellent; all their test results are perfect.

I cook porridge with meat once a day, and Pedigree is always in the bowl, so they eat it whenever they want.

We switched from expensive dog food to Pedigree. What should we do if our Doberman is hanging on to Britcare, Bozita, and Acana? We tried ProNature, but he itches and chews himself out. He's only been on Pedigree for 3 weeks now, and he's stopped scratching. We tried Royal Canin, but you'll only be working on it. A dog on Royal Canin is like a skeleton. He needs at least 1kg a day to stay in shape.

We always use special Pedigree mouth bones. They clean the mouth really well, and the dog just loves chewing on them. And there's no bad breath afterward.

If a dog's lab results are excellent and her physical condition is fine, then her diet is perfectly adequate. We go to the vet every month for checkups. My Lesya is fit for space. We've been feeding her Pedigree her entire life and will continue to do so because it's perfect for her.

I don't understand people who buy some ridiculously fancy food and travel to the other side of Moscow to get it. Why is that necessary? The food should always be available at the nearest store, because it can run out at any moment. And why lug around those bags? I choose Pedigree because it's always easily accessible.

If you want to be sure your dog is always well-fed and healthy, then choose Pedigree, and everything will be fine. We switched our dog to Pedigree a long time ago, and everything is great.

My Naida absolutely adores Pedigree wet food. All of them, in different flavors. Of course, she happily eats dry food, too, but she absolutely goes crazy over these meaty chunks. As soon as she hears me open them, she drops everything and runs to the forge.

It's not a bad food. I can't say it's number one on the market, but it's quite good in terms of price and quality. It has vitamins, enough protein, and enough fatty acids.

When we got a dog, I bought Pedigree just for fun—it was really memorable from the ad. And it was cheaper than many, so it was a good price overall. We've had this food for seven years now. Our dog is always playful and cheerful, practically squealing like a pig when he runs to his bowl.

I switched my dog to Pedigree a long time ago. Since the food is inexpensive and readily available, this is important to me, as I don't have much time to cook and don't have the money to buy premium food. With Pedigree, everything is great; my dog is healthy and feels great.

I never considered other food. My parents fed our dog Pedigree, and when I got my own dog, I immediately bought him Pedigree. He's now three years old and healthy and full of energy.

We've been feeding our dog Pedigree his entire life, and he's healthy. He loves wet food and Pedigree treats.

Pedigree food has a well-balanced formula. It contains all the vitamins and nutrients a dog needs. This ensures that their teeth, coat, and stomach are healthy. I've bought Pedigree for my dogs, and only one of them has gotten sick in three years—a runny nose and a cold.

My Lloyd has been eating Pedigree since he was a puppy. And he's grown into a huge Labrador. I've just been switching between different foods. First, puppy food, then adult food. Sometimes I buy him beef as a treat, but it doesn't seem to impress him much.

I've been giving my dog Pedigree for two years now. Everything is fine. She's healthy, happy, and active. Her teeth are fine, and she's bursting with energy. It's not surprising, considering how many nutrients Pedigree contains.
