Manufacturer
The Ukrainian company Kormotech, founded in the Lviv region in 2003 by Orest Vovk, produces its products under the Club 4 Paws brand. They also produce pet food under the Gav, Meow, and Optimeal brands, which are increasingly gaining popularity and recognition among breeders and dog lovers. In 2011, the company opened a second plant, which specializes in wet food production.
According to the manufacturer, all Four Paws dog food recipes were developed in collaboration with Raymond Wyatt, a leading specialist in industrial nutrition at Petfood Development Worldwide, an American company, and experts from Petfood Specialties (Poland). The factories are equipped with modern equipment, enabling the use of advanced manufacturing technologies and compliance with European quality standards. 70% of the raw materials used in the production of the food are of Ukrainian origin, ensuring freshness and timely delivery.
Assortment
The Club 4 Paws brand offers a total of ten different food varieties. They are divided into three lines: basic, specialized, and wet. The Professional Performance line, a specialty for kennels, stands out.

The Basic line offers poultry-only menus, categorized by pet age (puppy, junior, adult) and size (small, medium, large, and giant breeds). Available in 0.5, 3, and 12 kg packages, depending on the diet.
The specialized line includes the Hypoallergenic menu with lamb and rice, for pets with food allergies, and the Active menu for highly active dogs requiring more energy. Available in 3 and 12 kg packages.
Wet food is available in two 100g pouches – one for puppies and one for adult pets of small and medium breeds.
As we can see, this brand's product portfolio is very limited, although the most common and essential menu items are still present. This limited selection is likely due to the company's youth; we hope they expand their offerings over time.
Evaluation and analysis of the composition
We have chosen one of the best representatives among the Club Four Paws brand dog food - this is hypoallergenic The lamb and rice diet is the one whose composition is the focus of our review.

Let's look at the nutritional value analysis of the diet:
- Proteins – 22%;
- Fats – 12%;
- Fiber – 3.5%;
- Ash – 7%;
It's worth noting that the protein and fat content in this recipe is slightly below average, which is sufficient for a sedentary indoor dog. However, it's definitely not enough for a pet that roams freely or gets regular exercise.
When reviewing the composition, we mainly pay attention to the list of the first five ingredients:
- Lamb meal – 25%;
- Rice;
- Brown rice;
- Barley;
- Sunflower oil;
The list provided is the basis of the recipe, so it is important that the first five sources of animal protein are included.
The following ingredients, starting with the sixth, are hydrolyzed animal protein, beet fiber, followed by egg powder and animal fat, as well as 1% flaxseed and brewer's yeast. Minerals and vitamins round out the list of ingredients.
Proteins in the recipe
Lamb meal ranks first – it's an easily digestible source of animal protein, making it a popular ingredient in recipes for pets with food allergies. It's made from lamb's soft tissue, which is unsuitable for human consumption, along with the bones. This premium, high-quality ingredient is a definite plus for this recipe.

Unfortunately, this food's formula doesn't include any other meat ingredients. There's also egg powder, but given that it's only listed as the eighth ingredient, it's difficult to estimate the actual amount of animal protein it contributes to the overall formula.
Carbohydrates
While there's no exact percentage breakdown for each grain, the fact that they appear in 2nd, 3rd, and 4th place on the ingredients list speaks for itself. White and brown rice are certainly healthier for dogs than wheat and corn; they're easier to digest and suitable for animals with sensitive digestion. However, they have a high glycemic index and aren't beneficial for dogs in large quantities.
Barley is another grain product that forms the basis of the recipe. It's a welcome addition to the diet, as it has a low glycemic index and a number of beneficial properties. However, this is only relevant if it's used as an alternative to other grains, rather than meat products.
Fats
The main source of fat in the feed is sunflower oil (listed #5 on the ingredients list), and animal fat (listed #9) is added as an animal-based lipid. Sunflower oil isn't the best source of lipids in the diet, but among other vegetable oils, it is one of the richest sources of Omega-6 and vitamin E, and has a beneficial effect on the skin and coat of animals.
Animal fat is considered a low-quality ingredient, typical of lower-priced pet foods. Essentially, it's fat derived from the waste products of recycled tissues from unknown birds and animals, which are unfit for human consumption. This ingredient is not recommended for dog food.
The manufacturer also included 1% flaxseed in the Four Paws Club dog food. Although flaxseed is a record-holder for Omega-3 content, it's unlikely to significantly improve overall fat content in such quantities.

Other feed components
Besides the ingredients we have already looked at, there are only three components left in the composition, which serve more as additives, playing a secondary role in the recipe.
- Hydrolyzed animal protein is a powerful natural flavoring agent in the form of a highly concentrated liquid or powder, made from specially processed animal by-products. It offers no nutritional value due to its small amount in the formula; it is used to enhance the appeal of the food.
- Beet fiber is the pulp of beets, used in pet diets as a primary source of fiber, promoting digestion and normal stool formation. It can be added dry or raw.
- Brewer's yeast is a source of B vitamins and is also rich in macro- and microelements. It has a beneficial effect on metabolism, skin and coat condition, and helps strengthen the pet's nervous system.
In addition, a number of vitamins and minerals have been added to the menu, which must be used due to the specifics of the production of industrial dry rations.
A review of this diet reveals that while it contains a good source of animal protein, it also contains too many grains and a questionable source of fat. No unique additives were found, but a minimal set of beneficial ingredients is present.
Reviews of Four Paws Club dog food
The budget version of pet food attracts dog owners for the same reason it also raises concerns. Therefore, many first want to hear reviews from those who have already fed their pets Club 4 Paws food. Opinions are divided, and as is often the case, there are both positive and negative experiences.
Vladimir, owner of a Mittel Schnauzer:
"Even though we've only had our puppy for a short time, we've already encountered problems with food selection. We once bought bulk food, and it caused our puppy to have flatulence. The kennel recommended feeding us Club 4 Paws. I've only been feeding it for a couple of months now, but he's not having any flatulence and is digesting well."
Natalia:
"Tempted by the attractive price, I bought my dog a small bag. Within two weeks, I saw results – her coat had become dull, and shedding and breaking were rampant. Her condition had noticeably deteriorated; she'd lost weight and muscle mass. Plus, she constantly had stool problems; she stooled frequently and heavily, and occasionally experienced gas and bloating. The food clearly wasn't right for my dog."
Price
The price of dry food Club Four Paws for small breed dogs for 12 kg is from 1450 to 1550 rubles.
Hypoallergenic food with lamb will cost from 2400 to 2600 per 12 kg bag.
In conclusion, this diet is a cut above many premium pet food products. At the same time, its low cost makes it a safe choice as a replacement for economy-class diets, which it clearly outperforms in terms of its composition.
