A Brief History
The company was founded over half a century ago and was originally owned by the Waltham brand, with Premium products produced at Royal Canin facilities. Following the merger of Royal Canin and Mars, the brands were acquired by Affinity Corporation.
Today, it is an independent enterprise employing over a thousand specialists. Thanks to its own laboratory equipped with cutting-edge technology, the company is constantly improving its existing product range and developing new ones. Advance pet food is supplied to 20 countries worldwide, including Russia. A related business is the production of pet products.
The brand's name, translated from English, means "affection," which clearly characterizes the attitude of customers toward its products. The quality of its food is confirmed by professional breeders, as well as owners of private nurseries and private stores. Their reviews serve as a litmus test for assessing the company's reputation.
Types of cat food
In addition to universal dry cat food, the Advance brand offers special formulas for the prevention of various gastrointestinal diseases, dental and gum diseases, and the genitourinary system, as well as for older animals, kittens, and long-haired breeds.
The flavor range is vast and diverse. Listing the entire selection in detail is pointless; it's more practical to focus on a few key categories:
- For kittens Advance Kitten. This food is designed for kittens aged 2-3 months to 1.5 years, as well as pregnant and nursing cats. The protein-to-fat ratio in this type of food is 4.5/20. The easily digestible ingredients, chicken and rice, work with immunoglobulins to support intestinal health. Taurine, Omega-3, and Omega-6 support normal brain and vision development, while a combination of minerals and trace elements supports genitourinary function.
- For adult cats. This diet is formulated to meet all animal needs to maintain optimal energy balance throughout the longest stage of their lives. All ingredients are easily digestible, providing the body with essential nutrients. Special minerals, such as pyrophosphates, help prevent tartar buildup and bad breath, while a vitamin complex promotes a shiny coat.
- Sensitive for cats suffering from food sensitivities. The problem can manifest itself not only in intestinal irritation but also in skin symptoms, such as dermatitis, allergies, hair loss, scabies, etc. To prevent potential negative effects, the food contains highly digestible animal proteins and carbohydrates, such as salmon and rice. Immunoglobulins and nulin promote rapid digestion, while zinc, Omega-3, and biotin are essential for healthy skin.
- Adult Sterilized for sterilized cats. Recommended age: 1 year and up. This food is balanced to help manage weight and maintain ideal body shape. Turkey and barley help support digestive function. Fiber and L-carnitine reduce the calorie content of a standard serving. Vitamin complexes help maintain energy and overall health. Low levels of potassium, phosphorus, and magnesium reduce the risk of kidney stones.
- Hairball series. Designed for long-haired cats prone to hairballs. A blend of natural fibers (pea and oat fiber) and malt extract help prevent hairballs and quickly eliminate them if they already exist.

The company also produces specialized diets for senior cats, which include glucosamine and chondroitin, and for cats with chronic kidney disease with a neutral pH, which helps prevent the formation of oxalate stones.
Price
The food is sold in packages weighing 0.4, 1.5, 3, 8, 10, and 15 kg. The average price of a standard package:
- 0.4 kg — in the range of 170-250 rubles.
- 1.5 kg - in the range of 600-900 rubles.
- 3 kg - in the range of 1500-2000 rubles.
Advantages of Advance feeds
One of the main advantages of Advance brand pet food is its widespread availability. Despite its well-balanced and virtually natural ingredients, the price remains moderate. Other benefits of this brand include:
- A wide range of products allows you to choose not only everyday diets, but also preventative ones.
- Most of the proteins are represented by elements of animal origin, which are better absorbed compared to plant proteins.
- A carefully selected content of vitamins, minerals and microelements that help compensate for the deficiency of certain substances in the body.
- Contains natural antioxidants called bioflavonoids, which support the immune system and the body's defenses. Its second purpose is to prevent tartar buildup.
- Absence of chemical flavorings and colorings, preservatives prohibited by European quality standards.
- Hermetically sealed packaging made of environmentally friendly multilayer materials: paper, thermal liner, and cling film. This extends the shelf life of the contents without releasing any toxic substances.

Disadvantages of Advance feed
Despite all the undeniable advantages, Advance products have some disadvantages that should be taken into account when purchasing.
- The "protein" category is only a general term, without the labeling "chicken meat" or "turkey meat." This means the ingredient contains some by-products. The terms "plasma proteins" and "dried poultry proteins" indicate that they are derived from by-products of meat production.
- The additive "antioxidants" does not specify which substances exactly are meant by this general term.
- There are relatively few online reviews from veterinarians and pet owners to get a proper opinion about the food, despite the brand having been present on the Russian market for quite some time.
Reviews
Katerina, owner of the British cat Boris:
"We switched our pet to dry food at one year old. We chose the right one through trial and error until we settled on Advance. Other attempts resulted in allergies and stomach upset. We've been using this brand for five years now, alternating between different formulas. We love everything. To save money, I started shopping online, fortunately there are plenty of them these days. The key is to order at least 3 kg at a time to qualify for free delivery."
Antonina Sergeevna, owner of two cats, Borka and Count:
"We have two cats: one is a regular stray who got lost a couple of years ago, and the other is a purebred, unflappable Persian. The latter is a very picky eater; nothing pleases him; we've spoiled him. We tried feeding him premium food, but it took us a long time to find the best one. Finally, we accidentally discovered Advance for longhaired cats, and we couldn't be happier. His gastrointestinal issues have disappeared, and he's also free of kidney stones; our Graf is neutered. We're happy and have no plans to change his diet."
Alexey, the owner of the sphinx Alfred.
"I don't really see much of a difference between Advance and cheaper brands. What's the point of overpaying? My handsome fellow, even though he's a purebred, devours everything you give him. I guess he's just lucky he doesn't have the same problems as others. But that's just my subjective opinion."
