Delix drops are one of the treatments that can help quickly rid your cat of fleas. Veterinary pharmacies offer a variety of products, including shampoos, tablets, collars, and simple tar soap, but doctors most often recommend using drops.

General overview
The product was developed by the Russian pharmaceutical company Bioniks. Testing showed that the drops eliminate not only fleas but also ticks, lice (in both cats and dogs), and even lice. Delix is an insectoacaricidal product based on a combination of chemical and natural ingredients. It has a repellent and antiparasitic effect.
Types of drops
- Delix is a permethrin-based medication. It is available for cats and separately for dogs. A product for kittens is also available.
- Delix-F for cats and kittens based on fipronil.
- Delix Bio Natura – biodrops based on oils.
The first two products include natural oils and extracts (aloe, ginseng, tea tree, eucalyptus, citronella) as auxiliary components, which improve the condition of skin and fur damaged by parasites.
Permethrin
A second-generation pyrethroid insecticide, a carboxylic acid derivative. It is completely harmless to dogs, but should be used with caution on cats. This is because permethrin is not broken down in the liver, resulting in a stimulating effect on the nervous system. If an animal accidentally licks the medication, it may experience seizures and vomiting.
Delix drops contain a 5% concentration of permethrin, which generally poses little risk to cats. However, if your pet is prone to allergies or has liver disease, it's best to avoid this product.

Fipronil
A low-toxicity, broad-spectrum insecticide. Safe for cats. The only drawback of fipronil is its cumulative effect. The animal will require repeated treatment. The substance is not absorbed into the bloodstream, but concentrates in the sebaceous glands. Effective against ticks, scabies mites, fleas, and lice. Vlas-eaters.
Ingestion of fipronil through licking drops can cause behavioral changes: the cat may become overly irritable or, conversely, passive. These symptoms disappear once the drug wears off.
Fipronil should not be used on cats with weakened immune systems or those with infectious diseases. It is also not used to treat kittens under two months of age.

Oil complex
The effectiveness of essential oils in combating parasites in animals has long been proven. The most commonly used oils are tea tree, eucalyptus, citronella, and extracts of pyrethrum, calyfer, and aloe. This is the composition of Natura Delix Bio drops. The advantage of this natural complex is that it can be used on pregnant and nursing cats and kittens from one month of age.

Operating principle
The drops are applied to the withers. Their action is similar to that of neurotoxins. The drug has a paralytic effect on parasites, blocking their nerve impulse transmission. As a result, the fleas and ticks die.
Method of administration and dosage
Delix drops for cats are convenient because they come in small plastic bottles with droppers. It's important to match the required dosage to your pet's weight.
The instructions for the drops provide the following recommendations:
- For kittens weighing up to 500 g, 0.25 ml of the drug (0.5 ampoule) is required.
- For a young cat weighing 0.5-1 kg, 0.5 ml (full ampoule) should be used.
- For an animal weighing 1-2 kg – 1 ml.
- For an adult animal weighing 2 kg or more – 2 ml.
The product is used for cats over two months of age. Apply the drops topically to the withers and shoulder blade area, gently parting the fur with your fingers. The skin should be dry. Do not bathe the cat for two days before and for the same amount of time after treatment. Do not let the cat outside, especially in rainy weather or snow. Be sure to monitor your pet's skin closely to prevent them from licking the areas where the drops were applied.

Delix drops are used both for preventative and emergency treatment of cats. Re-application should be done no sooner than one month after the initial treatment. During this time, the product remains effective. To enhance the effect, it is recommended to wash the cat with a special insecticidal shampoo beforehand.
When treating an animal with this medicine, it is necessary to observe the following precautions:
- After applying the drops, wash your hands thoroughly.
- Keep the cat away from children to prevent the medication from entering their system, especially if children have close contact with the pet (petting, kissing).
Advantages of the drug
According to the manufacturer, any product bearing the name "Delix" is completely safe for animals. However, cats, like humans, may experience intolerance to certain ingredients.
Price
The price depends on the type of Delix drops. The cheapest (45-55 rubles) is a permethrin-based product. Delix-F is slightly more expensive, at 85-95 rubles. The most expensive are oil-based drops, costing approximately 160-200 rubles. The medication is available at veterinary pharmacies and is available without a prescription.
Veterinarian Reviews
Oleg, a veterinarian with 3 years of experience:
"The influx of patients occurs at the beginning of autumn, when everyone returns from their summer cottages. One complaint is fleas caused by cats wandering freely. I like Delix-F drops for their effectiveness and the final result. The effect is noticeable within a few days. Repeat treatment is only necessary as a preventative measure."
Svetlana, a veterinarian with 7 years of experience:
"I recommend Natura Delix Bio. It's less harmful to the animal's health, but it's just as effective as chemical treatments. In severe cases, regular Delix is better, of course."
Owner reviews
Marina, Moscow:
"I used to use insecticidal shampoo for prevention, but it failed me last time. I bought Natura Delix at the pharmacy and liked the natural ingredients. The drops helped rid my cat of fleas in three days. They're conveniently packaged, with disposable droppers. And they have a pleasant scent."
Tatyana, Tula:
"We used Natura Delix to treat fleas on our cat. She has free access to the outdoors. After the first application, she became restless, running around the apartment, spinning around. She calmed down after about 30 minutes. The drops didn't help the first time. Two weeks later, we found the parasites again. We had to treat her a second time."
