Composition and cost of Dana Ultra products
Dana Ultra drops are a yellowish oily liquid with a faint, distinctive odor. The medication contains three active ingredients:
- pesticide Fipronil;
- synthetic analogue of insect hormones Pyriproxyfen;
- Chloronicotinyl insecticide Thiamethoxam.
The following are auxiliary substances:
- solvents isopropanol, dimexide;
- emulsifier tween-80;
- stabilizer polyvidone;
- preservative polyethyleneglycol-400;
- fragrance limonene.
Dana Ultra cat drops are available in 0.35, 0.65, 1, and 2 ml droppers. Three 0.65 ml droppers start at 150 rubles.
The Dana Ultra cat collar is 40 cm long and has a clasp. The collar's webbing is made of polyvinyl chloride and impregnated with a mixture containing 4% fipronil, 0.25% pyriproxyfen, and 1% ivermectin. The Dana Ultra antiparasitic cat collar costs approximately 250 rubles.

Dana Ultra cat spray contains two active ingredients: the pesticide Fipronil and the pyrethroid insecticide Cyfluthrin. Excipients:
- antiseptic and binder glycerin,
- preservatives citric acid and macrogol (PEG),
- solvents distilled water and isopropanol,
- vanilla-scented flavoring.
A 95 ml bottle of Dana Ultra spray costs about 320 rubles.
Action of active ingredients
Pyriproxyfen works by inhibiting the synthesis of nitrogen-containing polysaccharides, which make up the chitinous shells of insects. As a result, mature pupae fail to develop, and the population dies due to a shortage of sexually mature individuals.
The insecticide Thiamethoxam affects insects' acetylcholine receptors, blocking nerve impulses. This results in the death of the ectoparasites.

The pesticide Fipronil prevents the entry of chloride ions into the ion channels of chemical synapses that provide innervation processes.
The contact insecticide Cyfluthrin blocks nerve impulses, causing impaired coordination of movements; death of insects occurs from general paralysis.
Directions for use
Dana Ultra drops and spray are applied to the cat's dry skin in areas where the medication cannot be licked off: on the withers and along the back. The single dose of Dana Ultra drops for cats is specified in the instructions and depends on the animal's weight. The drug's effectiveness lasts from 4 to 8 weeks.

To treat acariasis (a disease caused by Otodectos cynotis mites), a few drops of Dana Ultra are placed in each ear of the cat, then the auricle is rolled up and massaged to better distribute the medicine.
Contraindications for the use of Dana Ultra include the presence of an acute infection in cats, the recovery period after a serious illness, pregnancy and lactation, and individual intolerance to the product's components, which usually manifests as an allergic reaction. Do not apply the product to damaged skin or use it concurrently with other insectoacaricides.
To prevent infestation (contamination) of cats with ectoparasites, it is recommended to periodically, once a month, treat the animal's bedding or rug with Dana Ultra spray. This is especially important if the cat has free access to the street.

Reviews
Liliya Sergeevna Petrushenko, veterinarian
Dana Ultra drops, sprays, and collars for protection against entomoses and acaroses have earned positive reviews from cat owners. A few drops of the liquid product or 2-3 pumps of the spray bottle are usually enough to treat a medium-sized cat. The flea collars are very practical: they have a convenient clasp, are not too tight, and last a long time. However, when using Dana Ultra liquid products, it's important to keep in mind that the effect of the product doesn't take effect immediately, so the cat should be treated approximately half a day before the intended walk. Subsequent walks, for at least 3 weeks, do not require further treatment with an insecticide.

"We've always had a lot of pets in our house. Currently, we have a dog, two cats, two turtles, and a hamster. They're a lot of work, so we try to minimize all care and safety procedures. The dog and cats are free to go outside, as we have a private house. We bought Dana Ultra flea collars for everyone; one collar lasts for several months. The special advantages of this brand are that it provides reliable protection against fleas and ticks, is virtually odorless, and has no allergic reactions."

"We recently adopted a cute young stray cat. When we took her to the vet, the doctor discovered ear mites (otodectosis). He recommended treating her with Dana Ultra drops, which have received good reviews. He said to apply the drops to both ears for at least seven days, after first cleaning the crusts with a swab soaked in the same medication. Apply the drops generously, then fold the ear and gently massage it to distribute the medication. We bought the drops over-the-counter at the veterinary pharmacy and diligently completed the entire course of treatment. Within a couple of days, our pet stopped scratching, and a week later, the vet said she was mite-free. I recommend this ectoparasite treatment as effective."

Why mislead people? Drops don't help and cause liver damage comparable to cirrhosis. Stop killing animals.
