How to draw a cat on a face

Trying on the role of a cute cat, temporarily transforming into a graceful animal, is the best way to have fun and brighten up any holiday. The easiest way to do this is by drawing the face of your favorite animal on your face. Children especially love trying on these "masks." We offer several options for drawing a cat on your face.

Painting with face paint

Face painting is a surefire way to not only lift a young child's spirits but also to unleash their creative side. Using bright colors, it's easy to create expressive masterpieces on the face, allowing the child to temporarily imagine themselves as a playful kitten or cartoon character. To illustrate, here's an example of how to paint a cat on a child's face.

Face painting on a child's face

Creating a beautiful "mask" isn't difficult. The key is a little diligence and following all the makeup application steps in sequence.

To create a masterpiece you will need:

  • paints for face painting;
  • foam or latex sponge;
  • narrow brush;
  • a bowl of warm water.

Face paints can be purchased in stationery departments or craft stores. The paints are water-based, making them completely safe for delicate skin. They're also easy to apply and wash off.

The main advantage of these dyes is that once dry, they adhere well to the skin, don't flake, and retain their vibrant color for several hours. So, there's no need to worry about the "mask" bleeding onto your holiday outfit at the most inopportune moment.

To draw a cat on a child's face, the work must be completed in several stages:

  • Creating a base. Using a sponge, apply white paint to the chin, bridge of the nose, between the eyebrows, and above the lip. To create a base for the cheeks and ears, apply pink paint to the protruding part of the chin, the tip of the nose, and the cheekbones. Using the same paint, draw two triangles above the brow line.
  • Outlining. Using a thin brush loaded with black paint, draw an outline along the top edges of the triangles, connecting them with an arc. Highlight the tip of the nose with black.
  • Drawing details. To define the cheek area, draw 4-5 curved stripes above the white and pink shading – these will be the whiskers. Add black "hairs" to the cheekbones and chin, as well as black dots above the upper lip.

Use of decorative cosmetics

Can't afford paint? In that case, use makeup. Before painting a cat on your child's face, it's important to test the cosmetics for allergies. To do this, first apply a few strokes of pencil and eyeshadow to the inside of your child's elbow. If the treated area doesn't turn red within a few hours, everything is fine.

When creating makeup, follow these simple step-by-step instructions on how to draw a cat on a child's face:

  1. Apply a makeup base. It will create a perfectly smooth surface, preventing premature flaking and smudging of your eyeshadow.
  2. Apply light powder. If you don't have any, use white eyeshadow.
  3. Using gray and beige shadows, highlight your nose, the area between your eyebrows, and the nasolabial triangle.
  4. Highlight your upper lid with gray eyeshadow. Use the same eyeshadow to draw lines from your nose to your brow bone.
  5. Create a cat-like nose. Use eyeliner or pencil to draw a small inverted triangle on the tip of the nose.
  6. The best way to create cat eyes is to use winged eyeliner. To do this, draw curved lines along the upper eyelids, and lift the ends of the winged eyeliner toward the eyebrows.
  7. To add expressiveness to your look, coat your eyelashes with mascara.
  8. To define the nasolabial triangle, draw a black curved line from the tip of the nose to the upper lip. Carefully extend the curve along the contour of the upper lip. Use the same color to outline the growth points of the mustache.

If you want to highlight the cat's cheeks, first draw a thin strip from the nose to the upper lip, and then branch it out to the sides, rounding the ends around the white base.

Hello Kitty: drawing a cat's face

The cute face of the main character from the popular Japanese cartoon Hello Kitty will look no less original at any celebration.

It's not difficult at all to create such an image:

  1. Wash your baby's face and pat the skin dry.
  2. Apply any rich baby cream to the skin as a base.
  3. Using a lip liner, outline the future face. The character's eyes and nose will match the real ones, and the ears will be positioned above the eyebrows. Since the cartoon character won't have a mouth, the face will end above the baby's upper lip.
  4. Fill in the area within the outline with white face paint or eyeshadow. Don't forget to highlight the bow attached to the character's ear with pink.
  5. Use black to outline the arrows, antennae, and nose. Use rounded lines to define the outline of the bow.

Kitty has a round nose. To make it look more realistic, it's best to outline it with a black outline and color the inside yellow.

Catwoman Look: Applying Makeup

The mysterious and mystical image of a cat has long been a staple of costume parties. Young girls are embracing the fashionable Lady Cat look. Its main characteristic is its feline gaze.

To draw a cat on a girl's face, whose gaze can hypnotize and captivate, follow a few simple guidelines:

  1. Applying the base. For a subtle glow, a matte bronzer is best.
  2. Create a subtle smoky effect. Apply black and silver eyeshadow to highlight the edges of your upper lid. Apply a black wing from the inner corner along the lash line toward your temple. For a contrasting effect, use pastel eyeshadow.
  3. For a dramatic look, line your lower lid with black eyeliner, connecting it to your upper lid. Then, use eyeshadow to create a smoky effect.
  4. Shaping the nose. Draw the tip of the nose as a miniature inverted triangle. From the lower tip of the triangle, as if extending the nasal septum, draw a vertical line toward the outline of the upper lip.
  5. You can paint your lips halfway, making the upper part black and the lower part red, or cover them completely with brown or burgundy lipstick.

Cat makeup

The color of a cat's face is a matter of taste. It can be solid, spotted, or even striped.

Regarding the eye framing, you can limit yourself to just lining the upper lid. However, doubling the lines creates a distinctly slanted cat-eye look. There are no particular restrictions on the shape and thickness of the eyebrows. The main thing is that they complement the overall look.

Try and experiment! We're sure this exciting process will bring immense pleasure to both the artist and the young model.
