IN-AP complex for cats

IN-AP Complex is an effective, broad-spectrum antiparasitic agent. Developed by a domestic manufacturer, Moscow-based Astrapharm, IN-AP Complex is used in cats for both the treatment and prevention of diseases caused by ectoparasites, roundworms, and tapeworms.

Composition and release form

The medication is produced as a solution. It is used for external treatment of animals against various parasites. One of its advantages is that the medicinal solution is packaged in polymer dropper bottles, making antiparasitic treatment simple, convenient, and quick. The oily liquid can be clear or slightly yellow. It has a characteristic odor.

The product's high effectiveness is ensured by its composition. It contains three active ingredients:

  • praziquantel;
  • avermectin C1;
  • fipronil.

Propylene glycol, benzyl alcohol and dimethyl sulfoxide act as excipients.

Pharmacological properties

The broad spectrum of action is due to the fact that the active ingredients complement each other and exert a detrimental effect on organisms parasitizing on and within the animal. Moreover, each substance has its own properties and characteristics:

  1. Fipronil is effective against various types of ectoparasites. Unlike other ingredients, it is not absorbed into the bloodstream, but is distributed evenly across the skin after application. It can accumulate in the fur and sebaceous glands. It causes paralysis and death of insects upon first contact.
  2. Aversectin C1 disrupts nerve impulse transmission, causing muscle spasms and death of parasites. The substance is lethal to fleas, lice, ticks, and lice, and when absorbed into the bloodstream, it spreads throughout the body, killing roundworms.
  3. Praziquantel works in a similar way. Parasites die from paralysis caused by disruption of nerve impulse transmission. In addition to external insects, it also kills tapeworms.

The action of the IN-AP complex for cats

The medication's components are effective against worms and arthropods at all stages of development, from eggs to adults. Although the medication contains toxic substances, when used correctly, it does not cause local irritation or addiction.

This medication can be used to prevent infection with the above-mentioned parasites. parasites and the development of dirofilariasis, which is transmitted by mosquitoes.

Before using the IN-AP complex for cats, carefully read the instructions and consult your veterinarian. The drug has contraindications and may cause side effects if used incorrectly.

Instructions for use

When treating an animal for parasites, follow these simple recommendations:

Treatment of a cat with IN-AP complex

It is important not to exceed the recommended dose:

  • for cats weighing less than 5 kg, 0.5 ml (half a pipette) will be required;
  • For large animals (over 5 kg) you need 1 ml (one bottle).

If an animal is found to have Ixodid tick (or several) of the medication should be applied to the parasite. It usually falls off on its own within 20-30 minutes. If this doesn't happen, use tweezers to remove the tick. It's important to prevent the medication from being licked, as ingestion can cause serious poisoning. For this purpose, use collar, collar, or tape. Remove it after the medication has completely dried.

Cat in a collar

Owner reviews

Larisa, cat breeder:

"I regularly perform parasite prevention. I've been using IN-AP drops for a long time. I really like it. And although it's inexpensive, it does a great job; at least my animals don't suffer from fleas and ticks. It also kills worms."

Lily, the owner of a British cat:

"When I noticed my cat was constantly scratching, I examined it and noticed a huge number of fleas. I went straight to the pharmacy. The Inspector drops I'd used effectively before were out of stock. On the pharmacist's recommendation, I bought IN-AP. After a few days, the cat's itching decreased, but the fleas weren't completely gone. I had to resort to drastic measures—bathing with shampoo."

Veterinarian Reviews

Nina, a veterinarian with 20 years of experience:

"For cat owners who can't afford deworming tablets, I recommend IN-AP Complex. This medication has many advantages: broad-spectrum action, effectiveness, ease of use, and affordability. I've never had any adverse reactions with this medication in my patients."

Evgeniya, a veterinarian with 7 years of experience:

"An effective domestic product. It's just as effective as its foreign counterparts, yet it's several times cheaper. I not only recommend it to my clients, but I also use it myself to protect my pets. I have three cats and a dog. So far, the medication hasn't had any problems."

  • After using the product (strictly according to the instructions), my cat lost hair in the areas where it was applied. I do not recommend it.

  • Be careful. IN AP Complex has side effects and isn't suitable for everyone. My seven-month-old cat almost died. Thirty minutes after application, she started shaking her hind legs and acting restless. After she urinated, she started meowing loudly and rolling on the floor, then started having seizures. It was a horrific sight. The medication was washed out with shampoo. The vet also administered IVs to flush out the blood.
    Be careful!!!
    I used the drug for prevention.

    • Hello! Was the dosage of this medication excessive? Were there any contraindications to its use? Individual hypersensitivity cannot be ruled out. The symptoms you described are very similar to drug intoxication (overdose or intolerance to one of the components).
