The drug also has the following properties:
- improves immunity;

- improves the body's resistance to viral infections.
Additionally, polyprepinols from mulberry leaves have the following effects:
- hepatoprotective;

- antioxidant, etc.
Based on its potency, the medication is classified as a low-hazard substance. When used in recommended doses, it does not exhibit mutagenic, locally irritating, allergic, teratogenic, or carcinogenic effects. When and how to apply
This immunostimulant is prescribed to cats for the symptomatic treatment of pathologies caused by herpesvirus infection. According to the instructions for use, Gamapren is given to cats in the following single doses:

When administering injections, use disposable sterile syringes and needles, and observe all aseptic and antiseptic precautions. Treatment duration can vary from 5 to 10 days, depending on the animal's symptoms and overall condition. If necessary, the veterinarian may prescribe a repeat course, which should not exceed 14 days.
Gamapren is approved for use in cats for prophylactic purposes. The medication is administered in a single dose, as for treatment, after the pet has come into contact with a sick animal. Strengthening the immune system with this immunostimulant helps prevent the development of a viral disease.

Clinical trials conducted in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Bryansk, and other cities demonstrated that animals recover faster when Gamapren is included in combination therapy. Improvements are seen as early as the second or third day of treatment. Furthermore, a shorter course of treatment is required. The studies also demonstrated the medication's effectiveness for prophylactic use. None of the test animals developed a viral infection after using the immunomodulator. The medication is now effectively used in veterinary clinics not only for herpesvirus infections, but also for coronavirus and other viral infections, as well as conjunctivitis, gastroenteritis and other diseases.

Owner reviews
Ksenia, owner of a 3-year-old cat:
"When we headed to the dacha with the arrival of warm weather, we noticed that after a couple of days, our red-haired beauty had practically stopped eating. She became lethargic, spent a lot of time lying down, and hardly went outside. We went to the vet. They diagnosed us with infectious rhinotracheitis. The main treatment was Gamapren. We administered the medication orally. The cat didn't like the procedure, but what could we do? The course lasted seven days, but noticeable improvements were noticeable after just two. Now the infection is gone, and our little troublemaker is running around the house again."
Andrey, owner of a Maine Coon:
"Our cat was prescribed Gamapren along with other medications for rhinotracheitis. The medication is very expensive, but effective. The thing is, we were initially treated at the same clinic. The prescribed treatment was virtually ineffective, but when we changed hospitals and doctors, Prince began to improve. I believe this is largely due to the immunomodulator we started taking additionally."
Veterinarian Reviews
Veronica, a veterinarian with 7 years of experience:
"Gamapren is an innovative, highly effective immunostimulant. Its effectiveness has been demonstrated in clinical trials (I've personally seen published reports), but I don't use it in my practice. The main reason is its very high price. There are more affordable, yet equally effective, medications."
Mikhail, a veterinarian with 10 years of experience:
"A good and safe medication. I've personally proven its effectiveness time and again. I've prescribed it to dozens of animals, and there have never been any allergic reactions or side effects. It's especially good for kittens under six months old. They improve right before your eyes. The high cost is fully justified by the remarkable results. It's not worth skimping on your pets' health."

I hope I can cure my cat with Gamapren, I really hope so. All the reviews are positive, and the fact that it's expensive... The main thing is that it works...

My cat also had rhinotracheitis, and I think she was initially misdiagnosed. They said it was sinusitis... They prescribed a bunch of medications, but nothing helped—antibiotics, immunomodulators, antivirals... In the end, the cat died... And now another one has gotten sick, and it's the same old story, and I don't know how to treat it... I'm now searching for treatment options on a veterinary website, hoping they'll suggest a reliable, effective treatment. So much money was wasted, and the cat died... I live in a provincial town where there's a veterinary station, but there's no lab, so they don't do tests, so there's no way to determine what virus it is.

Hello! Antiviral serum is prescribed in such cases. Then antibiotic therapy is prescribed to prevent superimposed bacterial infection. Symptomatic therapy is also prescribed, including intravenous fluids. In general, animals should be vaccinated according to age to prevent similar situations from recurring.

You write that the drug is expensive and there are cheaper alternatives... Having treated seven cats for viral rhinotracheitis, I tried a ton of treatment regimens prescribed by different clinics, and none of them worked! And not a single doctor prescribed Gamapren! My cats were withering before my eyes, no matter what I injected them with! I found it myself, and after the very first treatment, we started to recover. Six more cats were treated as a preventative measure, but it was too late... but they had a milder form of the disease and recovered quickly. I believe that Gamapren combined with Famvir (a human medication) is the best treatment for viral rhinotracheitis! Everything else was ineffective.
