Composition and features
Forvet is an injection solution. It is usually clear, although a slight, almost imperceptible turbidity may be present. The colorless liquid sometimes has a slightly brown tint. The sterile solution is packaged in ampoules or glass vials ranging from 5 to 100 ml.

The main ingredient is Panavir, a potato sprout extract containing a large amount of glucose, arabinose, galactose, and other carbohydrates, as well as uronic acids.
Usually, for infectious pathologies in cats, Forvet is used in the form of a solution for injections, but there are also solutions available for sale eye dropsTheir composition is practically identical, except that one of the components of the eye drops is taurine, an amino acid that stimulates tissue regeneration during degenerative processes.
Pharmacological properties
The drug's medicinal action is due to the polysaccharide complex Panavir. The medication has the following pharmacological properties:
- increases the body's defenses in animals;
- stimulates the production of interferon, a protein synthesized in response to viral invasion;
- suppresses the activity of viruses, which leads to their death;
- promotes the survival of infected cells;
- initiates regeneration processes and helps animals recover from illnesses or injuries (operations);
- accelerates the wound healing process and prevents the development of complications, including swelling and purulent inflammation;
- improves metabolic processes.

As a result of using the medication, the cat's body becomes resistant to viral infections, as well as the negative impacts of external factors, including stress. Moreover, the drug has no carcinogenic effect on the body and is considered a safe immunostimulant for animals.
Forvet is considered safe for cats, but consult your veterinarian before use and read the instructions for use to achieve the greatest effect.

The medication is also used for eczema, dermatitis, and other skin inflammations, as well as long-lasting wounds. Furthermore, the immunostimulant is taken to boost immunity. It is prescribed prophylactically after surgery and serious injuries to prevent complications, and in stressful situations to reduce potential consequences. The use of this immunostimulant in severe illnesses accelerates the recovery process, restoring strength and muscle mass.

Eye drops are prescribed for eye conditions caused by infections. They are used only in combination with other medications, which should be selected exclusively by a doctor based on the disease, symptoms, and the animal's characteristics.
How is it used?
According to the instructions, Forvet is injected into cats to stimulate their immune system and prevent viral infections in the following doses:
- animals weighing up to 5 kg – 2.5 ml;
- for pets weighing over 5 kg – 5 ml.
Injections are usually given twice, with a 24-48 hour interval between injections. The drug is administered intravenously or subcutaneously. This regimen is used not only to boost immunity but also in times of stress and in surgical practice to prevent postoperative complications.
For herpesvirus rhinotracheitis, rotavirus enteritis, and other infectious diseases, the medication is administered once daily. The dosage is calculated as follows: 1 ml of solution per 5 kg of animal weight. Injections are administered for 7-10 days. For eczema, dermatitis, and other inflammatory diseases, as well as wounds, the solution is administered at a dose of 1 ml per 10 kg of the cat's weight. Treatment duration usually does not exceed 10 days.
Depending on the animal's condition, the veterinarian may change the duration of treatment on an individual basis.
When using Forvet for treatment, it is used in combination with other drugs, the action of which is aimed at eliminating the symptoms or cause of the pathology.

The drops should be administered one drop in each eye. The drops are administered several times a day (usually 4-5 times). Treatment can last from one week to 30 days. The eye drops can be used in combination with Forvet injection solution. This combination maximizes the effect by enhancing local and systemic immunity.

Owner reviews
Olga, the owner of the nursery:
"When an infection enters a cattery, it usually leads to the death of the animals. The virus spreads quickly, and in most cases, a pandemic is unavoidable. At least, that was the case until we discovered Forvet. This drug is a true miracle. We now use it immediately at the slightest sign of a viral infection, and it helps us save most animals from death. The injections are painless and even kittens tolerate them well."
Natalia, owner of a 9-year-old cat:
"We were prescribed an immunostimulant along with other medications for calicivirus. The cat wasn't in the best condition. He had a high fever, was completely unwilling to eat, and was lethargic, but after the first injection, he started to feel better. We had four injections in total. It's a good medication; it helped bring our beloved Vaska back to life."
Oksana, the owner of a Persian cat:
"On the veterinarian's advice, we use Forvet before shows and other stressful situations. Stress used to cause serious health problems, but now there are no consequences. The medication also boosts the immune system."
Veterinarian Reviews
Victoria, a veterinarian with 10 years of experience:
"Our clinic has long used Forvet. Last year, it helped us cure over a hundred cats of dermatophytosis, some of whom had worms and other underlying conditions. We also frequently use it for calicivirus and other infectious diseases. The number of animals that could not be saved has been reduced severalfold with the use of Forvet."
Mikhail, a veterinarian with 8 years of experience:
"Forvet is an effective domestic immunostimulant. While I can't call it a panacea, its effectiveness has been proven in practice. I've used various regimens to treat calicivirus, but only Forvet helps save all infected animals. I've now abandoned other immunostimulants in favor of this medication, as I believe it's currently the most effective."
