Duke's farm dog food

Not many dog owners are familiar with Duke's Farm dog food, so reviews are rare. This is easy to explain: it was launched only a few years ago, and for most owners, it remains uncharted territory.

Duke's Farm dog food is produced by Golden Acres Pet Food in Lancashire, England. This company specializes in producing super-premium pet food for a variety of clients, including custom formula development and turnkey branding. The entire process is carried out in-house, using innovative technology and state-of-the-art developments. Quality control and packaging are also carried out on-site.

The Dukes Farm brand is a dog food product created for the Russian company Pet Retail, which owns a chain of pet stores known as Beethoven.

In addition, you can only buy this food from them, which, judging by the reviews of dog owners, does not suit everyone.

Range of rations

Dukes Farm, a Russian-English dog food brand, offers a line of dry and wet foods. According to customer reviews, the variety of wet food recipes will satisfy even the most discerning palate. They offer canned lamb, veal, turkey, and duck, buffalo and venison, as well as tripe with giblets.

Duke Farm dog food

All Dukes Farm dry dog food consists of regular, grain-free, and sensitive diets. In the regular line, all diets are divided by age (puppy, adult, senior) and by pet size (mini, small, medium, large). Owners are offered a choice of chicken or turkey. The exception is the senior dog food, which contains lamb and venison.

The Grain Free diet series also offers two meal options—turkey and lamb—with sweet potato replacing the grains. Although Duke's Farm grain-free dog food is a recent addition, it quickly received positive reviews, with many customers highly satisfied.

The Sensitive series is specially designed for pets with sensitive digestion. Depending on your pet's taste preferences, you can choose between salmon or duck.

Almost all Dukes Farm dog food is available in two sizes: 2 kg and 12 kg. Only the small breed category (both puppies and adults) lacks a 12 kg size. Judging by reviews, not all owners of small pets are happy with this.

It's worth noting that this brand can't boast a wide selection of flavors and types of food. However, the most essential items are present, and new ones are being added. We believe the limited selection of foods isn't a significant factor at this point, as the brand is still in the process of developing and establishing its market share.

Detailed composition

Dukes Pharm dog food is marketed as a super-premium product. However, the website offers no information about the nutritional analysis of the food, which is odd, to say the least. This immediately raises a host of questions, primarily about the balance of each specific diet.

For a detailed analysis, we took Dukes Farm Adult Medium dog food., which receives the most reviews. The guaranteed analysis section only lists the amounts of calcium (1.68) and phosphorus (1.42).

The manufacturer claims this diet contains 54% meat and fish. Is this true?

List of food ingredients in descending order:

  • Chicken – 28%;
  • Chicken meal – 19%;
  • White rice;
  • Oats;
  • Barley;
  • The top five ingredients are the main components of the diet, followed by trout (4%) and salmon (3%).

The number one figure here is 28% chicken, referring to fresh meat, which will lose water during cooking, meaning this percentage will be significantly reduced in the finished food. This suggests that the manufacturer's eloquent claim is nothing more than a marketing ploy. The same fate will befall trout and salmon, ultimately rendering the already small amount completely insignificant.

The role of carbohydrates here is assigned to oats, barley and white rice, and we can also safely add corn flour, which is in ninth place in the composition, but it will most likely take a position before trout and salmon.

The ingredients also include chicken fat and flaxseed oil—both highly recommended and healthy ingredients. Further down the list of ingredients is "chicken sauce," a rather obscure ingredient.

The list also includes herbal supplements and medicinal herbs: nettle, psyllium seed, cranberry, yucca schidigera, and seaweed. Each of these helps boost immunity, cleanse the body of toxins, and has a beneficial effect on the gastrointestinal tract. Of course, such ingredients are highly recommended. For example, here are some of the benefits:
Seaweed – has a beneficial effect on metabolism, rich in vitamins and microelements.

Cranberry is a natural antioxidant that fights the aging process and improves the functioning of the genitourinary system.

In reality, it's difficult to give definitive reviews of Dukes Farm dog food, as its ingredients contain many unclear and controversial ingredients. Mostly, it contains corn flour, which is more typical of low-quality dog food and primarily serves as a cheap "filler."

Reviews of food

We analyzed online reviews of Duke Pharm dog food and divided them into two groups: reviews from dog owners and reviews from veterinarians.

Customer Reviews

To provide a complete picture of impressions of Duke's Farm dog food, we sought out reviews from real dog owners who decided to share their opinions with the public. The most representative ones are:

Ekaterina, 2-year-old dachshund"We've been feeding Dukes dog food for about a year now. Honestly, I haven't noticed any problems during this time. The ingredients are perfect for us: his stool is fine, his coat is shiny—he's ready for a show. Besides dry food, I also feed him canned food from this brand. He eats everything, and he's never left anything in his bowl."

Lera, a French bulldog"I tried Dukes Pharm dog food because I'd heard pretty good reviews from dog owners. The transition went well; everything was fine for a few days, but a month later, my bulldog's eyes started watering and scratching. It got worse and worse. I figured it was the chicken, so I've now switched to Sensitive with salmon. I'll see how he reacts."

Traditionally, there are various comments, from sharply negative to laudatory:

The opinion of veterinarians

After analyzing veterinarian reviews of Dukes Farm, an English dog food, we found no overwhelmingly negative or, on the contrary, overly complimentary opinions. In summary, we concluded that, compared to other diets in this segment, this food is neither good nor bad. This is expected in the super-premium class. It's a good replacement for any budget dog food and can be recommended for everyday feeding.

Price

Duke's Farm Grain-Free Pet Food Medium breeds, Duke's farm chicken
2 kg – 1450 rub; 2 kg – 990 RUR;
12 kg – 6500 rub. 12 kg – 4650 rub.

The price range for this brand's food is on par with many super-premium diets, even very close, which is not surprising, as there is serious competition here.

  • I bought four cans of DUKE'S FARM senior dog food (lamb, venison, rice, and spinach) at Beethoven on sale. Our dog is allergic. The salesperson at Beethoven was raving about it! When I opened the can at home, it smelled deliciously of meat, but when I started putting the food in the bowl, I noticed white specks. I touched them with my finger and realized they were bones (large, sharp bones!!!). I opened a second can, and the same thing happened: not just one or two bones, but the entire food was stuffed with unground, sharp bones, and unmixed food, including dry pieces in the wet food. Feeding a dog this kind of food is simply dangerous, in my opinion! It was a disappointment and a waste of money. Beethoven should be ashamed of itself for feeding this kind of food!

  • Duke pharmaceutical.. UK.. premium feed.. haha!!
    This is STS (private label) from Beethoven Pet Store. The food is made from shit and packaged somewhere in the middle of nowhere. It makes dogs vomit and have diarrhea, and causes eye and ear problems.
    Their "premium" crap is also Profine, which has a similar story.
