Diseases of the nervous system in cats
Nervous system diseases in cats develop for numerous reasons. However, two are most common: infection and trauma.
Damage to the spinal cord or brain is always accompanied by the appearance of nervous phenomena: impaired coordination of movements, behavioral changes, convulsions, paralysis, paresis, tremors, seizures.
What's the most common nervous system disorder in cats? Epilepsy. It's reported in humans, cats, and dogs. It's a rather complex condition, requiring ongoing and expensive treatment. While it's impossible to completely cure a cat with epilepsy, it's quite possible to stop the seizures.
